Our Community Library is something we're incredibly proud of, and it's all thanks to the generosity of our wonderful families.
Throughout the year, families donate books they no longer need, giving them a new home where other children and families can enjoy them. It's a simple idea that makes a big difference—encouraging a love of reading, reducing waste, and helping everyone access great books at no cost.
Our library works on a "take a book, leave a book" approach. Borrow a book to enjoy at home, return it when you're finished, or donate a book you'd like to share with others. There's no pressure—just a wonderful way to keep books circulating throughout our community.
A huge thank you to every family who has donated books and helped make our community library such a special resource. Your kindness and generosity continue to inspire a love of reading in so many little learners. 📚💙

As part of our Eco Kindy program, Studio 3 ventured into the community and walked to Dunnett Park, which we have proudly adopted as part of our commitment to caring for our local environment. During our visit, we observed the park and discussed ways we could help with its upkeep. Together, we explored the importance of caring for our environment, sharing ideas about how small actions—such as keeping the park clean, protecting plants, and respecting nature—can make a positive difference in our community.

This experience provided children with meaningful opportunities to develop a sense of responsibility and connection to their local community. By participating in the care of Dunnett Park, they learned that their actions can have a positive impact on the environment. The walk encouraged physical activity, observation skills, and discussions about sustainability, while fostering teamwork, problem-solving, and respect for nature.

It’s the quiet observations. The check ins between educators. The careful documentation. The conversations that happen behind the scenes to make sure every child is safe, supported and heard.

🌿🍃 Studio 1 Little Learners Explore the Great Outdoors! 🍃🌿
Today, our Studio 1 little learners enjoyed an exciting Eco Kindy community walk, taking in the beauty of the natural world around them. 🌳🐦
The children were fascinated by the trees and birds in their natural habitat, and they loved talking about the beautiful blue sky above. ☀️💙 One of the highlights of the walk was when a friendly bus driver waved back to them—it brought huge smiles to their faces and sparked lots of happy conversations!
Experiences like these help our little learners build a connection with nature, develop an appreciation for their community, and create wonderful memories along the way. 💚🌏

This NAIDOC Week, Sparrow Early Learning Ellenbrook North proudly celebrates the rich cultures, histories, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Throughout the week, our children have been exploring stories, art, music, and meaningful conversations that help build respect, understanding, and connection to Country. These experiences encourage curiosity, celebrate diversity, and nurture a sense of belonging for everyone in our Sparrow community.
We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from the world's oldest continuing cultures and to reflect on the importance of listening, learning, and walking together.

Our Studio 2 environment has been designed to inspire curiosity, independence, and exploration for our young toddlers. 💛
At this stage of development, children are learning through hands-on experiences, making discoveries with all of their senses, and building confidence as they explore the world around them. Our inviting learning spaces encourage open-ended play, allowing children to investigate, create, problem-solve, and learn at their own pace.
From our loose parts and sensory invitations to our small world play, block experiences, and cosy book spaces, every area has been intentionally created to support language development, fine and gross motor skills, creativity, and early social connections. These experiences encourage children to ask questions, make choices, and develop a growing sense of independence while feeling safe and supported by our educators.
By following each child's interests and providing meaningful opportunities for play and discovery, we create an environment where every child feels a sense of belonging and is empowered to learn, grow, and thrive every day. 🌱✨
