The Social impact explores all aspect of our lives, Social, spiritual, entrepreneurial spirit, Futurism and Altruism. However, it was just an avoidance of life.
Corey Gaidzionis lived a life inside the box until he encountered a death in the workplace resulting in PTSD. He found himself disconnected from the world with no purpose. He had no drive for life and did not understand what he was going through. He would have extreme emotions to simple things without reason. He found solace in riding his bike, it allowed him to escape from his problems. Corey's l
ife started to feel connected again when he got involved with a local primary school who needed bread for their breakfast club. Being around young people gave him hope and reinvigorated his soul and planted the seed for Project ReCycle. He is focused on making a positive change in the lives of young people in our world. Corey is the founder of Project ReCycle a prevention program for at-risk young people in our community, and in addition to teaching some wonderful skills in bike mechanics and teamwork, supports young people from high social and emotional needs backgrounds to develop resilience, self-confidence and problem-solving skills. Corey connected with Hope2Day to grow the Project ReCycle with a plan to roll out the program nationally. Hope2day was established to support, educate and empower, those in need, to make a difference in their lives and have a meaningful, lasting social impact. They align ideas, resources and supporters with individuals, families and communities and partner with others to find meaningful solutions and leave an enduring social impact. Corey volunteers as a community consultant for student engagement with the Education Department. The insight he has gained from this experience has extended into developing a mentoring program for Parents, Students and Teachers to create an awareness of empathy and develop proactive pathways that keep students engaged in education. Corey has been shortlisted as Volunteer of the Year with the City of Cockburn - Western Australia for his work with young people in the local community. Corey is a keynote speaker within corporate, education and social sectors. He shares his story of PTSD to create awareness of the stigma attached to PTSD and depression. His authenticity provides real-world insights into safety concepts, acceptance of mental health in the workplace, resilience and culture. His Keynote presentation can be tailored to suit the organisation's requirements.
