Our Balloon room children have been exploring imaginary play through cafe and kitchen learning environments in their current educational program. This morning we took that into the real word, and visited the baking_corner2022 to purchase some sweet treats for the educators!
We had a lovely morning spotting busses and trucks, and chatting away about the yummy treats we could see.

Continuing our National Science Week celebrations, we were fortunate to welcome Jonatan, one of our Subicare family members who works at the Kids Research Institute.
With our lab coats on, we jumped straight into action β exploring and investigating different types of bacteria through our microscopes.
A huge thank you to Jonatan for visiting this morning and giving us the opportunity to experience science in such an engaging and exciting way!
Thanks for inspiring our little scientists! π

Alongside National Pyjama day, it was also national tree day π³
We were lucky enough to have Agnes join us today to help our Sunshine room children plant a beautiful frangipani tree! The children helped Agnes to dig the hole ready for our new addition in the outdoor garden.
What a creative way to allow the sunshiners to show care and empathy towards their environment.
Thank you Agnes, we canβt wait to see our new tree blossom πΈβοΈ

The children came excited in their cosy pyjamas and enjoyed a movie together!
Thank you to everyone who made a donation this morning. Subicare will be donating this to the National Pyjama day foundation to help pay for educational resources for children in foster care.

Apart of our NAIDOC Week celebrations at Subicare, some of our Rainbow Room children went down to watch the Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony at the Subiaco Arts Centre. The children were able to witness the ceremony with traditional dancing and listened along to the Didgeridoo.
Thank you to the city of Subiaco for inviting us to this event. We had so much fun! What a beautiful way to extend the childrenβs learning about the Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander people and their culture.
