There were so many giggles, laughter and excitement as children had the opportunity to stand inside a giant bubble!! and some just couldn’t resist the urge to poke and pop the bubbles.
There was also a lot of trial and error, patience and adjustments made during this experiment.

What a month August has been! It’s been full of wonder and excitement.
Last week we celebrated science week with many science experiments, incursions and experiences to expand our curiosity, investigation, problem solving, and exploring cause and effect though open- ended scientific play.
Thank you to Alex Robson from “The Nature Seekers” for providing this Little Scientist Wonder incursion for all of our ages groups. The children were very involved, enthusiastic and engaged.

NAIDOC week celebrates and recognises the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It’s an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth. This year we celebrated “50 years of deadly” for indigenous culture this means: awesome, fantastic, excellent, or great! 👍 ❤️

This week the children experienced an Indigenous Incursion where they learnt about interesting artifacts and how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people use the land in resourceful ways. Greg has been visiting our centre for a few years and his knowledge about history and culture is informative and valuable. He speaks to the children very calmful and uses language easy to understand for young children. This experience is engaging for all of the children and age groups. The children learnt how to make yanjet (reeds) from trees and water plants to make ropes and fishing nets. They were able to touch and feel various animal skins that were used as clothing, bedding, to keep warm or cool, and used for collecting materials and supplies. They learnt about Noongar language and so many other useful resources, such as shelter, fire sticks, food supplies, the boomerang, tapping sticks, music, tools, bush medicine all made from natural materials and our land.

Providing a safe and healthy environment for all children is our first priority. All of our educators keep up to date with Child Safety training, First Aid training and current safety guidelines.
