To extend on the children's recent interest in Bees, we recently had a visit from Rob McKrill of Elite Bee Keeping Supplies. Rob taught the children about the life cycle of bees, how they make honey, where they live and how he looks after them as a registered Bee Keeper. The children were even lucky enough to taste some honey straight from the honey comb :) Thank you to Rob and the Ralph Family for making this incursion possible. 😃

During our Anzac Day celebrations, our Centre collected non-perishable items, from our families and community members, which were posted in the form of a 'Care Package' to our Australian soldiers serving overseas. It was a wonderful way to extend our learning from Anzac Day into teaching our children how to show kindness and generosity to others.
We used this opportunity to take our children on an excursion to Australia Post in Inglewood where they posted our Care Packages.

Last weekend our staff took part in a professional development session to maintain their Senior First Aid, CPR and Anaphylaxis qualifications. The training had a special focus on providing an emergency response for children within an education and care setting. Our families were also invited to join us for the training which was simply awesome - we all walked out of the session buzzing with positive energy. Safety is always our first priority! A special thank you to Sam Kerridge from We Train You, who is a phenomenal trainer, and our wonderful families who joined us on the day. This week our children had a special visit from Fireman Kevin and his retired 1960 Bedford Fire Engine. Fireman Kevin read the children a story about fire safety, the children had a turn using the fire hose and got to go on a ride on the Fire Engine. This incursion ties in with our current curriculum which includes learning about the different types of jobs that people have and how they can help the wider community.
