Every time I would say something ridiculously silly, my husband Jon would smile and say "Oh small brown girl says". I'm a tribal girl from the beautiful island of Borneo. I first came to sunny Australia to study rocks (geology) but unknowingly, it would open the doors to a path I never imagined I'd be on. I befriended a specky, charismatic guy one day and ended up marrying him in the autumn of 201
6. Early that same year, I picked up a dip pen and a bottle of ink, and fell in love again.. except this time, with calligraphy. From then on, I slowly began to realise a dream *cue Les Mis' "I Dreamed A Dream"...* and with Jon's help, Small Brown Writes slowly formed and came to life! I love creating calligraphy art and event stationery - from commissioned pieces of favourite quotes and poems to wedding vows and special event invitations. It doesn't always have to stop at ink and paper. Fabric, wood and even stones are possible surfaces to work on too.
