Update from the Think Mental Health WA School Surfing Titles last Friday.

The junior girls came third overall (Poppy V and Billie H) in the surfing. The senior girls (Jaycee H and Grace S) came equal 4th in surfing, and they WON the Senior state body boarding 🥇.

Overall Churchlands placed 2nd in the state! An outstanding achievement and well done to all!

It’s Education Assistant Appreciation Week!

This week, is a celebration of the incredible Education Assistants (EAs) who make a lasting difference here at Churchlands Senior High School.

EAs are not just helpers — they are educators, mentors, role models, and an essential part of our school.

Today our EAs were recognised for all their hard work and effort with a morning tea.

Congratulations to Adam S (Year 10) who recently won 2 categories at the South Perth Eisteddfodd.

- Under 18s, Classical Voice

- Under 18s, Operatic Aria

Adam performed “Music for a While” by Purcell and Bella Sicomo un Angelo, and an aria from the opera Don Pasquale by Donizzetti.

Adam extends a thank you to his teachers, particularly Ms Kathleen How, for their support.

Mrs Manifis-Gott recently treated her form group 12F3 to a fresh continental breakfast. Pastries, fruit, yoghurt and hot beverages were served.

Mr Chapman was also invited along to join in the breakfast and touch base with the students.

Mrs Manifis-Gott has been with her form class since Year 7 so is sad to see them leave in the next few weeks but wishes them the best of luck in their future endeavours.

Our Year 7 & 8 First Nations students had an incredible day of science, culture, creativity and STEM at Curtin University for National Science Week! 🌟

From exploring the science of sound and making bullroarers, to tackling a Minecraft sustainability challenge with Deadly Coders, students learnt, created and collaborated throughout the day including one activity run by one of our Churchlands Alumni, Owen Thistleton.

The fun continued with a scavenger hunt and a visit to the Centre for Aboriginal Studies. A huge thank you to Curtin University and Deadly Coders and everyone involved in creating such a memorable experience! 💻🔊🧡

Golden Pipette 2026 🧪⚗️

Another year and another group of Year 12 Chemistry students competed in the Golden Pipette titration competition.

This event tests students’ precision, skill, and accuracy in laboratory techniques, bringing a mix of friendly rivalry and scientific excellence to the classroom. The winner, to be announced at an assembly later this term will have their achievement immortalised on the Golden Pipette Honour Board in the Year 12 Chemistry classroom.

Congratulations to Jaycee H and Grace S (Senior girls) and Poppy V and Billie H (Junior girls) who won the girls metro surfing competition last Friday and are now through to the state qualifier competition being held tomorrow against kids who qualified from regional areas.

Well done also to Indi H, Indi L, Rose H, Amy M (Year 10), Sienna J and Jasmine B (Year 9) who also competed last Friday.

We wish the qualifying girls all the very best for tomorrow!

Friday was the last of our Athletics Carnivals for 2026.

It was our Year 7s turn for the excitement and fun of their very first high school athletics carnival.

Not only was the enthusiasm on show but also amazing athletic performances.

Results for the day were:

Champion Boy:

3rd – Yann A

Champion Girl:

2nd – Jesinta A
3rd – Elise F
