Our recent Café Connect: Navigating International Student Life was packed with valuable insights and great conversations! 🌏✨
Students heard from Robert from the Compliance team, who shared important information about visa compliance, work rights, and financial safety. We also welcomed Aaron from International Risk and Academic Security, who spoke about foreign interference, student rights, and the importance of respecting diverse perspectives while studying and living in Australia.
The session wrapped up with a fun quiz 🎉, plenty of prizes for lucky winners 🎁, and, of course, food, drinks, and the chance to connect with fellow students and staff. 💛
✨ Join us for our next Café Connect: Essential Safety Tips for Students on Holiday
Learn practical tips to help you stay safe during your holidays, including important water safety advice from Royal Life Saving WA. There will also be an interactive activity, giveaways, food, and the opportunity to meet other students. 🌊☀️

Had such a great time welcoming 11 Japanese exchange students to Curtin! 🇯🇵🇦🇺

It was a pleasure showing them around campus, introducing them to different parts of Curtin, and sharing about the Curtin Student Guild, the role of ISC and how we support, represent and connect international students across campus.

And of course, we had to finish the day in the best way possible , with a bit of soccer together! ⚽️

Our last Cafe Connect – Physical Wellness at Curtin Stadium was full of energy and fun! 💪 Students took part in push-up and basketball competitions, made fresh smoothies using the bicycle-powered blender 🚴🥤 and enjoyed delicious bánh mì Vietnamese rolls. With lots of giveaways, perfect weather and plenty of laughter, it was a fantastic afternoon of wellbeing and connection! 💛

Last Tuesday’s Wellness Hour Cafe Connect was a wonderful afternoon of learning, creativity and connection. 💛

Students enjoyed the relaxing “Quiet 60” crafting activity with Chronically Crafty, followed by helpful presentations from Student Wellbeing, Counselling, Accessibility and Multifaith on managing stress and accessing free support services. As always, there was plenty of delicious food, great conversations and new friendships.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our first Café Connect of the semester! It was wonderful to see so many new and returning students connecting, making new friends, enjoying free food, and learning more about life at Curtin.

A special thank you to the Curtin Connect Team for introducing the many support services available to students throughout their Curtin journey, and to our amazing Curtin Mentors, who spent time chatting with students, sharing their experiences, and helping everyone feel welcome on campus. 💛

☕ Café Connect is back for Semester 2! 🎉
Looking to make new friends, meet other students, learn more about life at Curtin, and enjoy some free food? Then Café Connect is for you!

Café Connect is Curtin’s popular weekly social event, designed especially for international students, but open to all Curtin students. Every Tuesday during semester from 2.00 pm to 3.00 pm, we pop up at different locations across campus for an hour of fun, connection and useful information.

Our first Café Connect for Semester 2 is:
