Morley Early Learning Centre

Morley Early Learning Centre We are a locally owned and operated childcare centre. If you are looking for that personalised touch Your Child was born naturally curious.

At Morley Early Learning Centre we believe our main purpose is to help foster children’s growth and imagination by providing them with a safe environment that gives them many opportunities to learn through child centred play each and every day. Child centred play is far more than just a way to fill children’s free time. Child centred play is one of the main ways children learn from the world arou

nd them. Our team of educators encourage your children to try new things, to explore, discover and support their curiosity in a safe home away from home environment. We want your child to explore and use their senses of sight, touch, sound, smell and taste and by doing so your child will learn about themselves and their environment. They are constantly discovering new things or ideas – how something feels, tastes or smells; or how something works, moves or reacts. We believe it is our duty to provide your children with a curriculum filled with ample opportunities for exploration and discovery learning. This requires lots of multi-sensory, hands-on activities and plenty of time scheduled for quality play. Simple, everyday things like playing with water, banging pots and pans or taking a nature walk outside helps stimulate children’s learning and form connections in their growing brains. At Morley Early Learning Centre your children will engage in quality play experiences, which studies have shown time and time again will make them more likely to have well-developed memory skills, language development, and will be able to regulate their behaviour, leading to enhanced school adjustment and academic learning.

🦷 Dental Health Week at Morley Early Learning Centre! 🪥

Yesterday we were delighted to welcome the wonderful team from Dianella Dental to Morley Early Learning Centre for a fun and engaging Dental Health Week incursion.

It was especially lovely to have one of our very own MELC parents visit the service to teach the children about the importance of caring for their teeth.

We are so grateful when our community comes together to share their knowledge and support our children's learning experiences.

The children had a fantastic time learning all about healthy teeth, the importance of brushing twice a day, making healthy food choices, and visiting the dentist to help keep their smiles bright and healthy.

The session was interactive, engaging and full of fun, helping to build the children's confidence while encouraging positive oral health habits that will last a lifetime.

A big thank you to Dianella Dental for supporting our children and helping make Dental Health Week such a wonderful experience. We truly appreciate your partnership with our service and look forward to welcoming you back again soon!🦷🪥

💛 Happy Friendship Day! 💛

Today we celebrated the joy of friendship by sharing kindness with our wonderful friends at the Bassendean Men's Shed.

Our Toddler and Kindy children had so much fun baking delicious chocolate chip cookies yesterday.

They carefully prepared each cookie with love to say thank you for the incredible work the Men's Shed does to support our local community.

At Morley Early Learning Centre, we believe friendship is about kindness, caring for others and giving back to our community. We hope our homemade treats brought a few smiles today!

Happy Friendship Day to all our amazing families, friends and community partners. 💙🫶🏻

🍪Baking with Purpose for Friendship Week! 🍪

Today our Kindy and Toddler children put on their hair nets and gloves, washed their hands, and became little bakers as they made delicious chocolate chip cookies for our friends at the Men's Shed! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

As part of the fun experience, the children practised important food safety and hygiene procedures, learning why we wear protective equipment and how we keep food safe for others.

As part of Friendship Week, we wanted to show our appreciation for the wonderful work the Men's Shed does within our community. Through baking, the children experienced the joy of kindness, generosity and giving back, while building meaningful connections with each other.

The smiles, excitement and teamwork throughout the morning were beautiful to see, and we know our special treats were made with lots of love. 💙

Thank you to the Men's Shed for all you do to support our community. We look forward to sharing our cookies with you and continuing to build our wonderful friendship! 🍪🤝

On Friday, Juniper Aged Care, visited Morley Early Learning and five of their residents enjoyed a teddy bear picnic with us.

The children and our special visitors participated in a range of engaging activities, including flower bouquet making, teddy bear collages, music, dance and storytelling. One of our kind visitors offered to read “Going on a bear hunt” for our children and they loved it.

We then enjoyed the teddy bear picnic 🧺 together, enjoying songs and sharing special time together. Our children and lovely residents had their teddies join in too.

It was a wonderful morning filled with care, kindness, enjoyment and memorable moments. We look forward to having them back for a Christmas celebration in December.🫶🏻

We were fortunate to have Lara and Julie from EnviroHouse visit us last week for a fantastic incursion sponsored by Bayswater, which brought immense joy to our children and new community garden.

The children's faces lit up as they planted new seeds, learning about the wonders of growth and the importance of nurturing. The children gained valuable knowledge about seeds and how to care for them.

Each child planted a seed, watered it, and then planted it in the garden, feeling a wonderful sense of accomplishment and joy.

Before long, our garden will be flourishing with fresh produce for our families to enjoy.

We had a wonderful time and can't wait to see our new community garden come to life over the next couple of weeks. Thank you Lara and Julie!

We had a very special visit from Lois May, a very respected elder within our community and had the wonderful opportunity to enjoy our very own Reconciliation Walk to encourage the children and staff to come together and walk as one no matter where we are from!

We took each others hands and walked in unity, becoming one as we celebrated each others diversity and culture - MELC is full of diversity and we welcome everyone to be part of our family! A true home away from home. Thank you Lois May for your special involvement within our centre. We loved seeing the children so happy during this heartwarming experience!

We had a wonderful week celebrating our beautiful mums at MELC last week.

The children made their mums feel loved and special by gifting them with a painted plant pot filled with herbs because they are SUP-HERB mums 🥰💝

They also made honey 🍯 joys and wrapped them up with lots of love…always a delicious addition to a gift!💝

We also gifted our special mums with a beauty organiser. A gift that was loved by all.

What a memorable week we had and we look forward to celebrating many more special moments with our families.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mums 💝🥰🩷💕🫶🏻
