There were lots of smiles, laughter and plenty of fun as our wonderful Dads and special father figures joined us in the Kindy room.

It was so lovely seeing the children proudly sharing their learning, playing, creating and enjoying some special time together. What a wonderful way to celebrate the special men in our little learners’ lives!

🎵 Expression of Interest - Edu-Sing Term 4 🎵

Edu-Sing is seeking expressions of interest from families interested in participating in their after-school music program during Term 4 at Lake Gwelup Primary School.

Edu-Sing is convenient, educational, and fun! Edu-Sing staff collect your child from school, provide a fabulous and enriching musical session (including afternoon tea), and parents collect their child after the session at 4:15pm.

If there is sufficient interest, Edu-Sing will look to operate from our school facilities in Term 4. To assist Edu-Sing with planning, please register your interest via the link below:

Today, our school came alive with an incredible parade of characters, creativity and colour as we celebrated Book Week!

A huge congratulations to our students for embracing the spirit of the day and a very special thank you to our wonderful families for the enormous effort, creativity and imagination that went into so many amazing costumes.

Our staff certainly joined in the fun too, and the school was transformed into a wonderful collection of much loved book characters!

There were plenty of smiles, plenty of excitement and, most importantly, plenty of fun had by all.

Hi everyone!

Just a reminder that our Open Board Meeting will be held next Wednesday 2nd September at 6pm in the Staffroom. We will be having a presentation from our amazing new Student Councillors, a staff presentation outlining the National Quality Standards for LGPS, a look at the new Faction Artwork and a quick review of our NAPLAN results.

The Great Teacher Hunt!

Today our school was bustling with excitement, laughter and plenty of bookish fun as students took part in a Teacher Hunt to celebrate Book Week!

Students became book detectives, searching the school to locate 10 staff members scattered around the school and finding out what book each one was reading.

There was so much fun to be had as students raced from place to place, searching for teachers and discovering their favourite books along the way. The school was buzzing with energy as our little book detectives completed their hunt!

Lake Gwelup Basketball Court Update!

My $120,000 election commitment to deliver a 3x3 basketball court to Lake Gwelup Reserve is on its way and excitingly with the City is adding its support and Lake Gwelup Reserve can expect a full sized basketball court!

I’d like to acknowledge the City of Stirling officers who have developed this plan and are delivering this project alongside myself and the state government.

NAIDOC Week Celebration! 🌿

On Monday, our Pre-Primary to Year 6 students were absolutely dazzled by the amazing Dion Drummond from Nexus Arts, as we wrapped up a fantastic few weeks of celebrating NAIDOC Week.

Dion shared an incredible performance showcasing dances from the Torres Strait Islands and his Aboriginal heritage in Cairns. Students learnt about traditional fishing techniques, clothing, different types of boomerangs and Aboriginal languages.

We even had students join Dion on stage to dance and have a whole lot of fun! 💃🏽🕺🏽

It was an absolute blast and a wonderful way to celebrate and learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. ❤️💛🖤
