Here are some snapshots of our students giving formation talks at youth group. Our students, as part of their course, attend youth groups in order to help form young people leading them to an encounter with Jesus in collaboration with 24:7 Youth ministry❤️🤍

If this is something that interests you and you would like to develop skills needed to be able to give formation to young people. Then check out our information online or on previous posts.🥳

“It is Jesus in fact that you seek when you dream of happiness; he is waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfies you; he is the beauty to which you are so attracted; it is he who provokes you with that thirst for fullness that will not let you settle for compromise; it is he who urges you to shed the masks of a false life; it is he who reads in your hearts your most genuine choices, the choices that others try to stifle. It is Jesus who stirs in you the desire to do something great with your lives, the will to follow an ideal, the refusal to allow yourselves to be grounded down by mediocrity, the courage to commit yourselves humbly and patiently to improving yourselves and society, making the world more human and more fraternal.” (St John Paul II, World Youth Day in Rome)🥳

Acts 2 College is in need of sponsorship to remain open for 2025. Please see https://acts2come.wa.edu.au/donate for details on how to donate.🙏

Please join us in prayer with our novena to St Francis Xavier, beginning 17 October:

O most admirable and loving St. Francis Xavier, in union with you, we adore the Divine Majesty. While joyfully giving thanks to God for the wonderful graces, which God conferred upon you in life, and for the greater glory with which God has gifted you in heaven, we come to you with heartfelt love, asking you to secure for us, by your powerful intercession, the precious blessings of living and dying in the state of grace.

We also ask you to obtain the favours we seek in this Novena. We ask for Acts 2 College to secure at least $40 000 in funding by the end of October to be able to stay open for 2025.

But if what we ask is not for the glory of God, or for the good of our souls, obtain for us what is most conducive to both. Amen.

Pray for us, Saint Francis Xavier, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Almighty God, by the preaching of St. Francis Xavier, You won many peoples to Yourself. Give his zeal for the faith to all who believe in You, that Your Church may rejoice to see the virtue and number of the faithful increase throughout the world.

Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

And join us at our prayer vigil from 8pm – midnight on Friday 25th October at the college.

Romans 15:13

This passage has impacted me because its helped me to realise that God is with me through everything. That he never leaves my side no matter what happens and no matter how bad the problem is that I face, God is with me.

Its also helped me to realise that in every situation theres a positive outlook that God has created for you to look through and you can choose to ignore it or accept it. So whenever I’ve had a problem or I am stressed or having a bad day in try to find the positive light that I can look through.

Attending and helping out Youth Groups is an integral part of being an Acts2coME student. Students can gain service hours through attending and overall ministry skills by helping the coordination of Youth Groups❤️‍🔥

Here are some snapshots of some current and past Acts2CoME students having a slay at . Doesn’t it look like the place to be??😉😁

This passage is really important to me because for me it acts as a great reminder. The message being that if we remain with Jesus and build our faith, He will remain with us and He will look after us in our journey of faith and guiding us to Him.

An important part of youth ministry involves organising events to help youth connect and develop relationships. As part of their Youth Evangelisation course, our diploma students get the opportunity to take the lead in organising such events. 🎭🎭

The students look after all aspects of the event - deciding what to do, planning, organising, promotions, setting up, hosting and clean up. In doing so, they get to learn and develop many skills such as communication, teamwork, conflict resolution, and chairing meetings, as well as all the background work required, such as analysing needs, conducting risk assessments, writing agenda and minutes, and developing run sheets.🏃‍♂️

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped out on the night to make this event such a great success!

The diploma students recently visited the offices of Catholic Youth Ministry to gain an understanding of CYM’s mission and to take a tour of the Catholic Pastoral Centre. It was wonderful to share our joint desire to connect with the youth of the Perth diocese in ministry.🎉

And our college principal, ✨Laura Firth✨ had the pleasure of presenting a session on “The path to discipleship” at CYM’s common ground. This session looked at our call to evangelise and how understanding the stages towards discipleship helps us understand how to spread the good news to our friends, family and colleagues. This can be a challenging call, but one that is so necessary in today’s world. Often, the first step is building trust with others, and rousing curiosity by being open about your own expression of faith. This can be as simple as answering the question of “what did you do this weekend?” with “I went to mass!” ⛪️
