Proudly independent isn’t just a label. It’s the people behind the service. Across WA, independent early learning services are built around relationships — with children, families, educators and their local community.

They know their communities because they are part of them. That is what proudly local really means.

Free training on the Disability Standards is now available for the early childhood sector

The department has launched new training on the Disability Standards for Education 2005.

The Standards explain what providers need to do under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 to support children with disability.

The training includes examples and guidance about how you can support your service provider to meet its legal obligations. The training will help educators, leaders and teachers better support children with disability to access and participate in children’s education and care on the same basis as children without disability.

By building knowledge and confidence across the sector, we're helping create more inclusive experiences for children and families.

What does Australia’s early learning sector really need to deliver the best outcomes for children and families?

That’s the question behind Early Years Dialogue, a new Ticker series presented by the Australian Childcare Alliance.

In the first episode, ACA President Paul Mondo talks about the realities behind the headlines — including regulation, workforce pressures, funding, quality and the challenges facing educators and providers every day.

It’s an important conversation about making sure the voices of those working across early childhood education and care are part of the national discussion.
