The children in our toddlers room have been exploring the Indigenous culture today. An educator showed the children some Aboriginal symbols which represents the countries unique culture along with having conversations about the culture. The educators started the morning mat session with an acknowledgement of Country which all the children showed interest in. The children also did some paintings on boomerangs and footprints using yellow, black, red and blue. The children assisted in making red playdoh which they used to create the symbols from the mornings activity

This morning the children in our pre kindy and toddlers room went for a bush walk around our property. They walked alongside their educators, explored the natural environment, visitied the yarning circle and read stories 🌳🦜📚

The children in our babies room loved the jelly sensory tray last week. They used their hands and their mouths to explore the texture, feeling and taste of the jelly. Some of the children were also naming the ocean animals they saw in the jelly too. 🌊🐋🐳🐬🐠

Yesterday some educators in our service wore their traditional dress or a shirt representing their culture. Some also bought in items such as dolls, jewellery and books. The children took great interest in what their educators were wearing. They further explored the countries everyone was from, accessories, clothing and designs, stories, dance and music. At Saranna we are a very multicultural service with staff and families coming from all over the world and on the day of international cultural diversity we celebrated proudly 😁

Molar Bears mobile dental care!!! 🦷😁

We're excited to let you know that Molar Bears Mobile Dental Care will be visiting our service on Tuesday 2nd June to provide dental checks for children. This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to have their teeth checked in a familiar and comfortable environment while learning about the importance of caring for their smile.

Molar Bears Dental Care is a mobile children's dental service that focuses on making dental care a positive and fun experience for little ones. Their team works closely with children to promote healthy oral habits from an early age.

If you would like your child to participate, please ensure all required consent forms are completed prior to the visit. If you have any questions, feel free to comment on this post and i will have Maddy or Milly answer your question.

Child Health App & Flu Vaccinations!!
We are pleased to share that we are partnering with Dr Blanchard from primo Medical Centre to offer child health appointments and flu vaccinations here at the service.

Dr Blanchard will be attending on Friday 22nd May @ 9.30am. You will need to attend with your child while they have their appointment.

The flu vaccination available is the nasal spray vaccine (administered through the nostrils), which can be a more comfortable option for children.

If you are interested in booking your child in for an appointment or flu vaccination, please comment email admin so we can organise the required paperwork.

Families, this Wednesday and Thursday we will be celebrating the international day for cultural diversity. Some of the educators are going to wear their traditional dress and others are going to bring in experiences or activites for the children from their culture. It's going to be a fun and meaningful day for all 😁
