The lab at Dianella Primary College was buzzing with activity during our incursion visits recently. Students made fake fossils, investigated the viscosity of lava, carried out a chemical test on rocks, examined soils and flooded model landscapes - phew! Lots of fun learning happening. Thanks to supporters

How many fossils can you make in a day? Well it turns out you can make quite a few with the help of the awesome Year 3-5 students from Deanmore Primary! We spent a great couple of days making copies of our ancient ammonite fossils and exploring some of the other fossils in our collection. We also investigated the viscosity of lava with Year 5 & 6 students and answered lots of great questions about volcanoes! Thanks to supporters https://ausearthed.com.au/wa/supporters/

Last week we explored rocks and the many reasons that they are so important to us with enthusiastic students and teachers from Fremantle College. One group correctly identified their entire set of rocks, a feat we have only seen done a few times over the years (it is one tricky set of rocks!). thanks to Chevron Australia.

Flashback Friday! Last Friday we had the great pleasure of spending our last day in Kalgoorlie at North Kalgoorlie Primary School. Students investigated the viscosity of different materials, the chemical composition of some of the WA rocks, and made their own ammonite fossils. thanks to Minerals Research Institute of Western Australia
