Did you know that Kumon was inspired by a father’s love for his child? Toru Kumon, a high school maths teacher, saw his son was struggling with maths. He handwrote worksheets for his son to study up for a half an hour each day. Soon his son progressed beyond school grade level and could solve calculus equations by the end of primary school.

Today marks 16 years since I began my journey as a Kumon Instructor.

As I reflect on this milestone, I am filled with gratitude for the many students, families, colleagues, and mentors who have been part of the journey.

To the parents who have trusted me with their children's education, thank you for your confidence and support. To my students, past and present, thank you for your hard work and determination. Watching you grow in confidence and achieve your goals has been the greatest reward.

Thank you also to the Kumon Morley Team for your dedication and commitment, and to the Kumon Office for your ongoing guidance and support over the years.

Over the past 16 years, I have had the privilege of helping thousands of students develop skills, confidence, and independence. I am truly grateful for every family who has allowed me to be part of their learning journey.

Thank you for being part of this incredible 16 years. I look forward to helping many more students reach their full potential in the years ahead.
