St George's College hosted our annual Science Formal Dinner, bringing together residents, guest speakers and professionals from the science community for an evening of conversation and connection.
We were fortunate to hear from two impressive guest speakers and Georgians, Jane Macey (1991), Chief Operating Officer at Arafura Rare Earths Ltd and Non-Executive Director of Genesis Minerals Ltd, and Dr Andrew Guzzomi (2000), Founding Director of the Centre for Engineering Innovation: Agriculture & Ecological Restoration at UWA, who shared their experiences and insights through thoughtful discussion and Q&A with residents throughout the evening.

Last week at the Practice of Law Dinner, we were joined by three outstanding guests:
Justice Fiona Seaward SC (1995), a Georgian alumni who was recently appointed to the WA Court of Appeal, shared insights from her journey through the State Solicitorβs Office to the bench.
Another Georgian, Tom Percy KC (1973), reflected on his varied career as a barrister, co-founder of Albert Wolff Chambers, and author, sharing insights and his enduring commitment to the law.
Oliver Mavrick, a lawyer at Pragma Lawyers, offered his intriguing and genuine perspective on the transition from university to practice and the realities of early legal careers.
College residents enjoyed the opportunity to hear these wonderful guests speak about their career journeys, unique experiences and their love of the law β

With tickets selling out in seconds, the evening was a showcase of outstanding performances and the musical talent of St George's.

Last week was Inter-College Touch Rugby, with a great effort displayed from both our teams, and of course plenty of enthusiasm from those spectating! π
