It’s incredible just how powerful it can be to make links between books and your child’s world around them! It is one of the fundamental skills to help children learn to read and modelling from a young age can be sooo powerful!

A weekend away camping with 8 kids and I thought… let’s do some bookish play! After reading the book down the road little bee we talked about colours in nature, the kids used an egg cartoon with paint coloured in each section to collect items around the camp site!

Cutting a frame into card I added some clear contact to make a ‘sticky window’ for the kids to make a nature artwork! 🖼️

Exploring the library with Gee! 📚✨

It’s never too early to start building those early literacy skills, and the library is full of inspiration for all ages—even books for older kids like Gee is perusing!

The earlier we nurture a love for books, the stronger their foundation for reading and learning becomes. Every story, every page turned, brings us one step closer to becoming confident readers.
