Charlie's Blog About Her Time Here as a VETDSS TAFE Student:

The Cert III in Arts and Cultural Administration at North Metropolitan TAFE Perth is a VETDSS course, it specialises in learning about the skills of business and working in an art gallery environment along with learning design elements, the course runs for two years and at the end, after completing both years, you will receive your certificate. The first half of the first year is mainly theory work, with little practical work, but as you progress towards the end of the first year, practical work will be more frequent.

Being enrolled in this course has helped me develop a lot of useful skills in designs relating to displays. For work experience myself I work in my high school’s library, where I design most of their wall and book displays, I use my TAFE course skills that I have learnt to help me create attractive displays. The course material is easy to understand and complete, there are a lot of support services available if needed and the environment is very inclusive and diverse.

A highlight of this year attending the course, is being able to work effectively in a comfortable and safe environment with my classmates and lecturer, this in my beliefs is a very important fact or learning, as you do so much better mentally and academically when you feel safe and comfortable.
