Meet Leslie from China πŸ‡¨πŸ‡³

Leslie started her journey at UWA College through the UWA Foundation Program and has progressed to a Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology) at The University of Western Australia this year ✨

After studying at an international school in Singapore, Leslie chose UWA College after meeting our team at a university fair and finding out about our supportive pathway into UWA student life.

Since arriving in Perth, she has enjoyed making friends from different countries, volunteering during Orientation Week, and getting involved in many student activities and events. Studying at UWA College has also helped her grow more confident speaking English and adapting to a brand new environment.

Outside of study, Leslie enjoys painting, movies, shopping, and anything related to design and technology. She also loves Perth’s relaxed lifestyle, especially visiting Scarborough Beach and City Beach 🌊

Her advice to future students? β€œIt’s normal to panic coming to a new place and feel shy because of language barriers. If you feel isolated, just know that there will always be friendly people to rely on!”
