🌱 Farm to Family Sustainability Workshop at Djinda Dreaming Southlake 🌏

We were delighted to host a wonderful Farm to Family hands-on sustainability workshop at Djinda Dreaming Southlake, delivered by One World Centre and A Little Green Steps. 💚

The workshop was a fantastic professional development opportunity for our educators, teachers and educators from other services to explore the journey of everyday materials and discover the answer to, “Where does your jumper, clothes, bag or hat come from?”

Through creativity, play and discovery, we explored wool, bamboo, cotton and reeds through hands-on activities such as:
🌿 Weaving reeds & raffia
🎨 Painting cotton tote bags
🐝 Building bamboo bee hotels
🧶 Spinning woolly yarn

It was a fun and meaningful learning experience that inspired us with new ideas to bring sustainability, creativity and environmental awareness into our everyday practice and children’s learning experiences.

A big thank you to One World Centre and A Little Green Steps for inspiring us to learn, create and make a difference! 💚🌱

We got together for a fantastic community event at the Len Packham Clubrooms in Coolbellup.

It was a wonderful opportunity to connect, share some laughs, and enjoy a great evening together.

📚✨ Celebrating Book Week at Djinda Dreaming! ✨

What a wonderful Book Week celebration we had at Djinda Dreaming! Our children came dressed in the most amazing, creative and colourful costumes, bringing their favourite book characters to life.

We also enjoyed spending time reading our favourite books together, encouraging a love of stories, imagination and learning.

A huge thank you to our wonderful families for helping make this special day so memorable! 🌟 Every child looked fantastic, and we loved seeing their creativity, confidence and joy shine throughout the celebration.

Science Week: Little Scientists in Action 🔬

Our Djinda Dreaming children embraced Science Week with curiosity and excitement as they explored a variety of hands-on experiments! 🌟

Through these engaging experiences, children had opportunities to explore chemical reactions, make predictions, test their ideas, and share their observations with educators and friends. They were encouraged to ask questions, wonder “what might happen?”, and discover the science behind their experiments through play and exploration.

It was wonderful to see our little scientists learning, experimenting, and having fun while developing their critical thinking, problem-solving, communication and inquiry skills. 🔍✨

🦷✨ Dental Week at Djinda Dreaming! ✨🪥

As part of Dental Week, our Djinda Dreaming children were excited to welcome Monil, a UWA Dental student in his 5th year of study, who joined us for an engaging and interactive learning experience about oral health and hygiene.

Monil talked with the children about how we can keep our teeth clean, strong and healthy, including the importance of brushing our teeth and making healthy choices. 🪥😁

The children explored which foods and drinks are good for our teeth and which ones we should enjoy less often. 🍎🥕🥛🍭 They confidently shared their own knowledge and experiences with Monil, making the session a wonderful two-way conversation.

It was fantastic to see the children asking questions, sharing ideas and building their understanding of healthy dental habits in such a fun and positive way! 💙

Our Djinda Kindy children had a wonderful time celebrating National Science Week at the Coolbellup Hub, organised by Little Green Steps WA! 🌏✨

The children enjoyed exciting hands-on STEM experiences, Aboriginal painting, wildlife and reptile encounters, sustainability activities and so much more! 🎨🦎🌱

It was a fantastic opportunity for our little scientists to explore, discover, ask questions and learn through hands-on experiences. 💚🔍

❤️ Kindness Starts With Us 💕

Djidi-Djidi children engaged in a meaningful kindness experience, exploring what it means to be kind and caring towards the people around them.

The children enjoyed painting a canvas together and sharing their own messages and ideas about kindness. Through this experience, they reflected on simple ways they can show kindness, such as helping others, using kind words, sharing, listening and making people feel included.

It was wonderful to see the children express their creativity while learning that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone’s day. 💕

🎨🌿 Little Hands, Big Creativity! 🌿🎨

Our little artists had so much fun exploring a colourful painting experience using nature leaves and bright colours! 🍃✨

They splashed and stamped colours with leaves to create beautiful patterns, mixed colours with their hands, and enjoyed feeling the different textures. Their happy giggles and smiles made the experience even more special as they shared this wonderful social time with their friends. 💕🎨

🌱🌿 Celebrating National Tree Day at Djinda Dreaming! 🌿🌱

We were excited to be part of National Tree Day, a wonderful opportunity for our children to connect with nature and learn about caring for our environment. 💚

Our little gardeners enjoyed planting flowers and vegetables, exploring the soil, and learning how plants grow and thrive. The children used their hands to scoop potting mix, gently planted their seedlings, and watered them with care.

Through this hands-on experience, children developed their connection with nature while building an understanding of sustainability, responsibility, and caring for our environment. 🌏💚

We look forward to watching our plants grow and continuing to care for our little garden together! 🌱✨
