A nationwide rally, “March for Australia”, is planned this Sunday across several cities. Focused on immigration issues, it may attract counter-protests. While many rallies remain peaceful, there could be tension, and oviously a heavy police presence, and transport disruptions. Follow these;

- Avoid rally areas and large gatherings.
- Plan travel to avoid CBD protest zones.
- Carry student ID and emergency contacts.
- Travel in groups and share your location with friends.
- Do not engage with protesters.

Some recent changes in migration.

The Government has replaced the Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement for student visas with a Genuine Student (GS) requirement. This is effective for student visa applications lodged on and after 23 March 2024.
