Your tutors at Checkpoint are experienced ATAR educators, helping students achieve their goals through intuitive explanations, practice, and personal mentorship in small classes of 5-7 students.

We have carefully designed a program to cover the WACE Methods and Specialist syllabus, intended to allow any student to improve, by starting with the core intuition before gradually introducing new ideas and extension material. At the same time, we provide students with custom homework booklets and tons of practice resources from WA’s top schools, enabling them to supplement their learning with focused practice.

Finally, through our LMS, we encourage students to ask questions, collaborate, and work with their tutor, even outside of lesson times. For instance, we encourage students to self-report their progress and submit homework, so their tutors can provide guidance and personalised feedback.

Meet your tutors:

Hey, we're Ollie, Sithum, and Josh - a trio of high-achieving students who aim to help students for high school. As former students who have experienced, and excelled in, the competitive environment of WACE, we understand the importance of effective conceptually-based learning, practice, and focused revision. We've seen a variety of different techniques in our time as tutors, and want to deliver the best strategies to achieve success. Our own experience in leadership roles has also provided us the ability to deliver mentorship to our students, regardless of their goals, be it engineering, medicine, law, or even if they're unsure! In addition, we have experience in the most challenging of environments, academic Olympiads, during which we saw how even the most complex of topics can be broken down into easier ideas and taught effectively.
