🎬 Thank you ATOM WA Conference 2025! 🌟
A huge congratulations to ATOM WA on an outstanding conference - Framing the Future: New Stages & New Stories celebrating creativity, collaboration, and the power of education in Media, Design and Drama.
It was a privilege for Perth Film Studios to be part of the day, and for our Business & Industry Development Director James Grandison to share insights on Opportunity exploring how teachers help students see the pathways that lead from the classroom to WA’s growing screen industry.
Thank you to Hannah Moran, Brad Minchin, and the entire ATOM WA team for their leadership and organisation, and to ECU Mount Lawley for hosting such an inspiring event. Most of all, thank you to the teachers and educators who continue to spark curiosity, creativity, and possibility in every student.
Here’s to a future where more Western Australians see their stories, and their opportunities, on screen. 🎥

Three of our Year 12 ATAR Media students have been shortlisted for the 2025 BUFTA (Bond University Film and Television Awards). Their films have been selected alongside 45 other finalists from across Australia, with PLC being the only school from WA represented – an incredible achievement 👏
The shortlisted students and their films are:
🎬 Prudence – ‘Burnout’
🎞 Lucy – ‘Sense of Being’
🎥 Edie – ‘Telephone’
BUFTA is a prestigious national short film competition for high school students, hosted by Bond University. From here, the films will undergo further judging, with the top 27 finalists to be announced ahead of the awards ceremony in November.
