PERFORMING ARTS SHOWCASE

Our talented students will take to the stage for the Southern River College Performing Arts Showcase, celebrating the incredible work and talent of our Performing Arts students.

The showcase will be held on Thursday 17th September at the Performing Arts Centre. Doors will open at 5:30pm, with the show commencing at 6:00pm.
Tickets are $2 and are available through Admin.

Come along, support our students and enjoy an evening of fantastic performances!

WHAT. A. DAY!

What an incredible Sports Carnival!

The energy, excitement and House spirit were in full swing from start to finish! From the competition on the track to the incredible cheering from the sidelines, our students gave it their all and made it a day to remember.

And after an action-packed day, there can only be one winner…

CONGRATULATIONS TO KARLA - THE RED TEAM!

A huge congratulations to all our students for getting involved, supporting their Houses and showing fantastic sportsmanship throughout the day.

A massive thank you to our HPE staff for all their hard work in organising such a fantastic day, as well as our staff, volunteers and P&C for helping make the carnival such a success.

HAPPY EA APPRECIATION DAY!

Today we had the pleasure of celebrating our incredible Education Assistants and recognising the invaluable contribution they make to our Southern River College community.

Our EAs play such an important role in supporting our students every day - helping them learn, grow, feel supported and achieve their best. Your patience, dedication, care and commitment do not go unnoticed.

A special thank you to our amazing Inspire Café team for putting together such a beautiful and delicious spread for everyone to enjoy!

Thank you for everything you do for our students and our school community. We are so grateful to have you as part of the SRC team!

SPORTS CARNIVAL 2026

It’s almost time! Get ready for a huge day of competition, team spirit and school pride!

Come along and support our students as they give it their all across the day. Whether you’re cheering from the sidelines, celebrating a great result or simply soaking up the atmosphere, your support makes a difference!

Date: Friday 4th September
Location: SRC Oval

Food trucks and sausage sizzle will be available throughout the day, so there’s plenty to keep everyone fuelled!

WELL DONE TO OUR SENIOR ROCK BAND!

On the weekend, our Senior Rock Band took to the stage at the IMSS Festival at Belmont City College, showcasing their incredible talent and hard work!

It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to perform and celebrate their dedication to the Inspire Music Program, in collaboration with Instrumental Music School Services (IMSS).

We are so proud of the commitment, passion and enthusiasm our students continue to show for music. What a great performance!

EXPLORING CAREERS IN THE AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE FORCE

Students in Years 9 - 11 who are interested in pursuing a career with the Australian Defence Force (ADF) recently attended an exciting excursion to the Aviation Heritage Museum in Bull Creek to explore the wide range of career pathways available to them.

Students heard informative presentations from the Army, Navy and Air Force, learning about entry pathways and the many opportunities available across the ADF. They also enjoyed hearing from a panel of ADF personnel who shared their personal career journeys and experiences.

The day was packed with hands-on experiences, including a push-up challenge, VR experiences and an engaging museum tour guided by former ADF personnel, who shared fascinating stories and insights from their time in service.

It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to gain a deeper understanding of life in the ADF and the diverse career pathways they could pursue.
