This week Kinross PS celebrated Science Week. The students participated in many exciting activities, a competition and finished today with a great incursion presented by Dr Duncan and Dr Magda. Kinross PS will be commencing a podcast station next term, so we decided to trial vodcasting this week. Our Head Boy, Harry, and Head Girl, Ella, planned questions and interviewed Dr Duncan and Dr Magda on Tuesday afternoon. They asked some brilliant questions and were wonderful, articulate hosts. On Tuesday, we celebrated Principals' Day a little early and made sure Mrs Gorton felt truly appreciated for all she does for our school community.

Throughout the day, Mrs Gorton was treated to several special surprises, including a student-led Q&A assembly, a beautiful performance by our school choir during muster, a special lunch with one student from each class, and a fun scavenger hunt that gave her the chance to explore some alternative career options!

Our students had a wonderful time searching for photos of Mrs Gorton around the school, and most importantly, Mrs Gorton thoroughly enjoyed her special day.

We also took the opportunity to celebrate our Deputy Principals today and recognise the important role they play in supporting our students, staff, and families every day. They enjoyed some sweet treats and were welcomed by a beautifully decorated office door, created by our students and staff to show their appreciation for everything our deputies do to help make Kinross Primary School such a wonderful place to learn and grow.

Thank you, Mrs Gorton, and our Deputy Principals, for your leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our students, staff, and community. We are incredibly lucky to have you at Kinross Primary School!

📢 Parent Workshop Reminder – Emotional Regulation

Join us next Tuesday, 4 August, at 6:00 pm for an informative and practical parent workshop focused on Emotional Regulation.

Parenting can be challenging when children experience "big" emotions. This session will explore practical strategies to help your child:
💙 Understand and manage their emotions
🤝 Build positive relationships
🏡 Thrive at home and at school

Whether your child is calm, spirited, or somewhere in between, this workshop offers valuable insights for all parents.

Looking ahead, a second workshop in Week 7 will focus specifically on supporting children with ADHD, ASD and anxiety, providing additional strategies to help them regulate and manage their emotions.
