Very nearly finished.....watch this space☺️

I get so lost in the process it's hard to know where to stop! Not done yet though, I will add some glazing and see where I'm at then. Happy days😁

Getting stuck into these early layers is so much fun! I just let loose because nothing is precious, soo good for the soul😁

So is it finished? I've been just leaving it for over a week now, and still unsure.

I'm thinking about just adding some subtle glazing to give more depth.

Let me know what you think 😘

Keeping warm and cosy in my studio today. Winter has arrived in Perth and it's pretty chilly outside 😺💨💦

I call this one Dream Weaver.
Texture is something I'm always drawn to and so much fun to work with.

The process of adding layer upon layer of subtle colour builds depth and careful shading then enhances the shadows.

I love the movement in this piece but it also feels calm.

Acrylic and mixed media on canvas.
50 x 50cm.

Here I'm just adding a bit of glazing to add some depth and soften the edges of some of the shapes. I'm gonna call that finished now!

I hope you have enjoyed this glimpse into my mixed media collage 'Paradise by the Dashboard Light '

If you have any questions about my process, I would love to hear from you 🙂

Here I'm using wet strength tissue paper for the final collage pieces. It's amazing stuff, it can be fully immersed in water and still doesn't fall to pieces like regular tissue, making it ideal for collage.

All the pieces get well stuck down with liquitex acrylic medium, with a couple more coats on top to make sure everything is well sealed in.

I'm not keen on the look of gloss or matte medium, so I mix the two 50/50 to get a kind of satin finish.
