Over the last few weeks, many of you supported the NAAE Change.org petition, which has gathered almost 4,000 signatures calling for national attention to arts education. Thank you for your strong support.

We’re pleased to share that NAAE has now successfully initiated and received approval for an official Australian Parliament e-petition on arts education. This petition goes directly to the Commonwealth Parliament, meaning the signatures can have a stronger impact on the government.

This is an important moment for us to demonstrate the breadth of support for arts education across the country.

We now have until 1 April to gather as many signatures as possible, so please help us out by:
• Signing the petition
• Sharing it widely through your networks and social media

Every signature helps strengthen the message to the Commonwealth Government that arts education matters and requires national policy attention.

You can access the petition here:

Drama Australia is delighted to share with you the latest Australian Drama Education Magazine  – ADEM No 21 – 2025: INVIGORATE!

Congratulations ADEM! This year marks our coming-of-age as we publish our 21st edition.

Over the years, we have focused on a wide range of themes, inclusive literacy, technology, social education, Indigenous perspectives, cross-curricular applications, sustainability, and wellbeing. More recently, we have highlighted themes from the annual national conference.

The 2025 Drama Australia National Conference sought to INVIGORATE our community after years of disruption and continuing rising pressures on drama educators. Similarly, ADEM 2025 seeks to bring our community together–to reconnect, recharge, and reignite our collective passion for drama education. We are delighted to share this diverse collection of research, stories, and scripts that truly offer INVIGORATING perspectives for our community through the themes Unite, Discover, Inspire
