CHOICE ≠ CONTROL.

Healthy relationships can look different for everyone.

Maybe you both work. Maybe one person works while the other stays home. Maybe your roles change over time.

The important question isn’t “Who earns the money?”, it’s “Do we both have a say?”

Choice means you can make decisions together, talk openly about finances and agree on an arrangement that works for both of you.

Control is when money is used to limit someone’s independence, choices or access to resources.

There’s been a lot of talk about consent in the media this week, so let’s clear up what it actually means, and who is giving it.

Because consent doesn’t disappear because someone is a s*x worker, es**rt or adult entertainer.

It doesn’t become less important because money has changed hands.

And it certainly shouldn’t matter less because of what someone does for work.

We can’t talk about consent only when the person we’re talking about fits neatly into our idea of who deserves protection.

Consent applies to everyone. Every time.
