Midwives can play an incredible part in your pregnancy and birth! Sadly some people feel there is an us versus them mentality with doulas and nurses but both can play a beautiful role in supporting you through your pregnancy and birth.
Midwives can help you with any medical needs you may have throughout pregnancy and birth. Doula’s are not medically trained but can help you to understand all of the medical terminology and options available to you to make sure you’re making informed decisions for you and your baby.
You can have the best of both worlds! Having a doula and a midwife to support you is a great idea to ensure all your medical needs are cared for as well as your physical and emotional needs. 🤎

Having continuity of care throughout your pregnancy can absolutely improve your birthing experience. The stats here are taken from the 2017 Cochrane review where they combined the results of 26 trials which included more than 15,000 people. The birthing people in these studies were randomized to either receive continuous, one-on-one support during labor or “usual” care.
Having a doula can build birthing confidence and knowledge -
Knowledge is power and a doula will ensure you are fully informed of your choices, help you advocate for yourself and your baby as well as provide emotional and physical support throughout your pregnancy and postpartum journey. 🤎
