That’s a wrap on our Kids 1 Pizza & Games Night! 🍕🥋

A small thank you to all of our Kids 1 families — our kids and parents who continue to support Northside Jiu Jitsu and be part of our community. ❤️

Unfortunately, we had a few kids who couldn’t make it, but those who did absolutely sent it! 😂

We had:

🥷 Silent Hunter Tag
🏐 Dodgeball
🎮 Games
🍕 Pizza
😂 And plenty of chaos!

These nights aren't really about the pizza or the games.

They're about giving the kids a chance to hang out, laugh, make memories and build friendships off the mats too.

And if you know, you know...

🥇🥇 A Golden Day for This Father & Son Team!
There are medals... and then there are moments you'll remember forever.

Watching a father and son both stand on top of the podium at the AFBJJ State Titles is one of those moments.
Jiu Jitsu is about so much more than learning submissions or winning competitions. It's about building confidence, overcoming challenges, and creating lifelong memories with the people who matter most.

This Jesse & Emil put in the work together, encouraged each other through every training session, and on competition day they were rewarded with two gold medals.
That's something no one can ever take away from them.
At Northside Jiu Jitsu, we love seeing families train together.

Whether you're helping each other prepare for competition or simply sharing an hour on the mats each week, those moments become memories that last a lifetime.
Congratulations, boys. We couldn't be prouder.

🏆 Victories Look Different at Northside Jiu Jitsu 🥋
At Northside Jiu Jitsu, we talk a lot about victories.
But not just standing on top of the podium.
We believe the biggest wins are the small, achievable victories that build confidence, resilience, and character. The medals are just the bonus.

As a coach, competition days are nerve-racking. Watching one of your students step onto the mats for the very first time, you want them to do well. You want them to believe in themselves. Most importantly, you want them to walk away with a positive experience that makes them excited to come back.

For his first ever competition at the AFBJJ State Titles, AJ had three goals:
🥋 Win a match.
💪 Finish an armbar.
🥇 Win gold.

In his very first match, AJ ticked off two of those goals by winning with an armbar. That's something many competitors never achieve, let alone in their first tournament.

He went on to battle his way to a fantastic 3rd place, falling in the semi-finals against tough opposition.

Did he achieve every goal? No.
Did he succeed? Absolutely.

AJ left that competition with experience, confidence, and proof that all the hard work in training is paying off. That's the kind of victory that lasts far longer than any medal.
Couldn't be prouder of this young man and the courage he showed by stepping onto the competition mats.
This is only the beginning.
Onto the next one. 💪🥉
