Koolanga is an inclusive, boutique service that engages families, children, and educators regardless of culture. Building and maintaining respectful relationships while providing an alternative childcare option is paramount to us. Our pillars are:

Science Week is coming – 15–23 August!

Science Week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the curiosity, exploration and discovery that happen every day in Family Day Care.

As part of Science Week, our educators can participate in the Discovering Science in Family Day Care Educator Challenge, sharing how they bring science to life through children’s play, interests and everyday experiences.

From investigating what sinks and floats, to noticing changes in nature, experimenting with movement, mixing, building and wondering “what happens if…?”, science is already happening in so many meaningful ways.

It’s another great example of how Family Day Care supports children to learn through hands-on experiences, curiosity and discovery.

We’re looking forward to seeing the wonderful science experiences our educators share!

We are delighted to announce the arrival of Issue 2 of KOOL Magazine.

This edition explores the everyday moments that shape how children grow, learn, feel, and connect. From synaptic pruning and nutrition to emotional regulation, bilingualism, scaffolding, Montessori independence, play schemas, and screen time, each article translates research and early childhood theory into practical, easy-to-understand information for educators and families.

We hope Issue 2 inspires reflection, meaningful conversations, and new ways to support children throughout their learning and development.
