South Padbury is an Independent Public School located in Perth, Western Australia.
With around 400 students from K-6, we have the feel of a country school in a city location.

Board Spotlight
Last week our school Board discussed the importance of handwriting for our students. Thanks to Mrs Nowers, who presented the work she has been facilitating with staff over the past 12 months to create SPPS Handwriting Guidelines. A new page on the school website has also been created for families. https://southpadburyprimaryschool.wa.edu.au/teaching-and-learning/teaching-handwriting/
The Board also discussed a delaying smart phones for kids community initiative called WaitMate, looked at reading fluency and basic number facts school data and heard about the Learning Support Coordinator role that Miss Donnelly undertakes around the school. We’d love to see any interested parents come along and learn more about our school at our next meeting. Thursday 4th June at 3.30pm in the staffroom.

Today Duncraig Senior High School staff visited our school and spoke with our Year 6s as part of high school transition.
Duncraig SHS run a fantastic transition process. Today’s visit was all about letting the students know the exciting opportunities that await at Duncraig and trying to resolve any unnecessary worries about high school.
By all accounts, it was a positive and informative session!

We can’t even begin to express our gratitude and appreciation to the dedication, passion and years of service that Mrs. Wiener has shown over the course of her career, and in particular to South Padbury.
Mrs. Wiener began teaching in 1978 and has taught in a variety of public and private schools and in both primary and high school settings. Known for her competitive nature, she also has a passionate belief that we can participate and enjoy sport at our own level.
Today, Mrs. Wiener officially retired and we wish her all the very best for her next journey in life. However, you may see Mrs. Wiener around helping us with relief.
Today so many of our students made the time to see Mrs. Wiener ,give her cards or flowers and thank her. So many of our students wore pearls, a favourite of hers. At the end of the day our Yr 4s to 6s gave her a very special sendoff.
Thank you again, Mrs. Wiener, not only from all your students at South Padbury but for all the students you have ever taught.
