Happy World Bee Day !!

World Bee Day's purpose is to spread awareness of the significance of bees and other pollinators for our survival. It is an excellent opportunity to put bees at the centre of the national conversation for a day and encourage actions that create more bee-friendly landscapes.

The kids just love exploring building and construction using blocks.

They worked together to create towers, houses, and imaginative structures, experimenting with different shapes and sizes. This activity supported problem-solving, creativity, and fine motor skills while encouraging teamwork and communication.

Today at Little Buckets Kinross, we got creative designing and building our very own houses 🏠✨

Using colourful cut-out shapes, the children selected circles, squares, rectangles, triangles and diamonds to bring their homes to life - creating roofs, windows and doors in all sorts of unique ways. It was lovely to see them chatting about their designs and sharing ideas with friends along the way.

This hands-on activity supported creativity, problem-solving and fine motor skills, while also helping the children build confidence in recognising shapes, identifying colours and understanding how different pieces fit together.

Today in the yard, we played a very exciting game of Shape Hide & Seek! 🔺🔵🟨

One child became the “shape hider,” placing different shapes all around the playground while the other children searched high and low to find them. Once discovered, they raced back to fit the shapes into the puzzle together!

The excitement really built as it came down to the final few pieces, with lots of running, teamwork and friendly competition along the way. A fun activity that encouraged problem solving, movement and shape recognition all at once! ✨

At Little Buckets Kinross, we’re more than just a childcare centre - we’re a family.

As a proudly family-owned centre, we believe in creating a warm, consistent and nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported and truly known. That’s why we prioritise continuity of care, with the same dedicated educators building strong, lasting relationships with your little ones every day.

When children see familiar faces, they feel confident to explore, learn and grow - and families can feel assured knowing their child is cared for by educators who genuinely understand them.

Because at Little Buckets, it’s not just about care - it’s about connection.

It’s always a good day when balloons and fly swats are involved in our toddlers room!

Today in the Kindy Room, we explored how germs spread with a hands-on glitter experiment.

One child became our “germ starter,” giving high fives and showing just how quickly germs can travel. The children were amazed watching the glitter move around the group.

We then compared washing with just water versus soap and water, discovering that soap was far more effective at removing those “germs.”

A fun and memorable way to learn the importance of good handwashing habits.

Last week at Little Buckets Kinross, our little chefs got busy making a delicious ANZAC Slice for our ANZAC Day activity!

We began by reading through the recipe together, with the children excitedly pointing out each ingredient they could spot on the table.

Everyone took turns pouring the pre-measured ingredients into the bowl, followed by giving it a good mix. Jo then added the warm ingredients, and Tash helped bring it all together into a dough.

The best part was using spoons and their “food power muscles” to squish, press and mould the mixture into the pan, ready for baking!

A wonderful hands-on activity filled with learning, teamwork and lots of fun along the way.
