🌟 Year 10 Excursion to Fremantle Prison! 🌟

Our Year 10 students had a fantastic day exploring Fremantle Prison! Students engaged brilliantly throughout the excursion, asking intriguing questions about the inmates, events that took place and the fascinating history and structure of the prison.

We finished the day at the Esplanade Marina with a well-deserved fish and chip lunch in the sunshine, followed by a sneaky ice cream to top off a wonderful excursion! πŸ¦β˜€οΈπŸŸ

A huge well done to our students for all the steps they walked today and for representing West Coast SESC so wonderfully! πŸ’™

πŸ“šβœ¨ Book Week at West Coast SESC! βœ¨πŸ“š

Last Friday, West Coast SESC celebrated Book Week, with staff and students encouraged to dress as their favourite book character or come along in an outfit inspired by a much-loved story. πŸ“–πŸ’«

We had a fantastic range of characters on the day, including wizards, superheroes, explorers and princesses! πŸ§™β€β™‚οΈπŸ¦Έβ€β™€οΈπŸ—ΊοΈπŸ‘‘

Even our Admin team got into the Book Week spirit, dressing up as pirates from the book 10 Little Pirates! πŸ΄β€β˜ οΈβš“

It was a wonderful day filled with creativity, imagination and plenty of smiles. A big thank you to everyone who joined in and helped make Book Week so much fun! β€οΈπŸ“š

πŸŽ“ TAFE Early Career Discovery! πŸš€

Our Year 10 students recently had the opportunity to attend TAFE Northbridge for an exciting Early Career Discovery program!

The day gave students the chance to explore a range of career pathways, experience TAFE facilities and industry-standard equipment, and learn more about vocational education and training options. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to start thinking about their future pathways, subject selections and post-school opportunities. πŸ‘·β€β™€οΈπŸ‘¨β€πŸ³πŸ”§πŸ’»

Even better, students who completed the six-hour accredited program received a unit accreditation that will be recorded on their USI β€” a fantastic addition to their future qualifications!

Well done to all our Year 10 students for getting involved, exploring new possibilities and taking another step towards their future careers! πŸŒŸπŸ‘

πŸ›οΈ Student Council visits Joondalup City Council! πŸ—³οΈ

On Tuesday, our West Coast SESC Student Council visited the City of Joondalup to learn more about how council meetings are run. Our students had the opportunity to sit in the council chamber, ask councillors some questions and observe a meeting in action.

It was a fantastic hands-on experience that gave our Student Council some great ideas to bring back to their own meetings!
A wonderful opportunity to learn about leadership, community decision-making and active citizenship.

πŸ•βœˆοΈ What a fantastic Pizza & Planes Night! βœˆοΈπŸ•

We had plenty of pizza, lots of laughter, some seriously competitive paper-plane action and, of course, some very impressive throws! It was wonderful to see our dads and our students connecting, working together and enjoying a night of fun and friendly competition.

πŸ† A huge congratulations to our 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams β€” those planes certainly knew how to fly!

A special thank you to our amazing staff who jumped in to help make the evening such a success, and a huge shout-out to Mr R, who did a fantastic job as our MC! And thank you to everyone who came along and helped make it such a fun and memorable evening.

We have a feeling Pizza & Planes might just need a comeback! πŸ•βœˆοΈπŸ˜„
