This Science Week, our little scientists have been busy exploring, investigating, asking questions and discovering how the world around us works! 🔍🧪

From exciting hands-on experiments to exploring nature, making predictions and learning through play, our children have been encouraged to get curious and think like scientists. 🌈🌿

We’re excited to share that our centre is now officially part of the Busy Bees Early Learning network.

While our name has changed, the things that matter most remain the same: the familiar faces, trusted relationships and caring educators who know your child and family.

As part of Busy Bees, our centre is now connected to a wider network of early learning centres across Australia, with a shared commitment to giving every child the best start in life.
We’re so excited for this next chapter and all that it will bring for our children, families and team.

✨ We’re Celebrating Pyjama Day All Week! ✨🌙

This week our service is celebrating National Pyjama Day,🧸💤

National Pyjama Day is a special Australia-wide fundraiser organised by The Pyjama Foundation. The foundation supports children living in foster care by providing opportunities that help build their confidence, learning, literacy, and emotional wellbeing through caring mentoring relationships.

We love taking part in community events that help our children learn about kindness, empathy, and helping others. Wearing pyjamas is a fun and simple way for our children and families to come together and support an important cause that makes a real difference in the lives of children across Australia.

This week, our learning spaces have been thoughtfully prepared to celebrate NAIDOC Week, providing children with meaningful opportunities to explore and appreciate the rich histories, cultures, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Our NAIDOC-inspired experiences encourage children to learn through play, creativity, storytelling, art, sensory exploration, and hands-on discovery. These carefully planned activities invite conversations about respect, connection to Country, culture, community, and the importance of caring for one another and the land we share.

Today our Kindy children participated in a special cooking experience in honour of NAIDOC Week. With the support of their teacher, Miss Mary, the children made their very own damper.

Miss Mary guided the children through each step of the process, and they followed along as they measured, mixed, and prepared their dough. The experience provided a wonderful opportunity for the children to learn about Aboriginal culture and traditions through hands-on exploration and teamwork.

We are so proud of the children for their enthusiasm and participation, and we look forward to continuing our NAIDOC Week celebrations throughout the week! 🌿🫓🖤💛❤️

🌿 Growing Together at Nido Greenwood 🌿

Our children have been busy little gardeners, helping to plant fresh herbs into our garden beds!

With guidance and encouragement, the children transported soil using the trolley, took turns digging holes, carefully planted each herb, and finished by giving them a generous watering. It was a beautiful team effort filled with cooperation, patience, and pride.

Experiences like this support children to develop a strong connection to the natural world, while learning about responsibility, sustainability, and caring for living things. Through hands-on involvement, our children build confidence, strengthen their social skills, and deepen their understanding of how things grow.

We can’t wait to watch our herb garden flourish 🌱💚
