📆 Upcoming Long Weekend Update 📆

A friendly reminder that we'll be closed this Monday, 1 June, for the public holiday.

All our centres will be back open on Tuesday with their usual opening hours. 💜

Today we celebrate Mother’s Day and recognise the care, strength, and love that mothers and mother figures bring to our lives in so many different ways.

We know this day can feel different for everyone. For those carrying loss, longing, or complex experiences of motherhood, we are holding you in our thoughts and honouring your journey 💜

To all who step into a caring and nurturing role, however that looks, we see you and appreciate you. It is a privilege to support you and families across WA, today and every day.

Ahead of Mother’s Day this weekend, our Perth Airport centre celebrated with a special morning tea.

Each room baked something delicious for their mums and loved ones:
🍪 Wonderers: Gluten-free vanilla cookies
🍌 Discoverers: Banana bread
🧁 Explorers: Egg and dairy-free cupcakes
🍋 Adventurers: Lemonade scones
🍎 Investigators: Apple muffins

The morning tea was a great success, with one parent sharing, “Thank you so much… the kids did so well, super tasty. Truly made my day.” 💜

Last week, the children at Kensington Early Learning Centre spent the week thoughtfully creating beautiful wreaths for ANZAC Day, to honour the soldiers who have protected, and continue to protect us.

On Friday, the wreaths were carefully laid by the Ngoolyak children at the memorial gardens, before they respectfully recited the Ode of Remembrance. Following this, the children enjoyed babycinos together at a local cafe, Sixteen Ounces.

The children returned to the gardens befiore heading back to the centre, where their wreaths were admired and warmly appreciated by members of the community.

Our Kensington centre recently celebrated Harmony Week in the Ngoolyak (Kindy) room.🌏

The children participated in a group discussion about belonging, learning that everyone is welcome and that being different is something to celebrate.

Together, they explored the idea that we are all unique, by noticing and talking about their differences, such as hair, eye, and skin colour. The children shared their observations respectfully and showed interest in learning about one another.

Following the discussion, the children worked collaboratively to create some beautiful artworks. These group creations highlight the diversity within the Ngoolyak room and will be proudly displayed to reflect the celebration of inclusion, respect, and belonging.

Our Perth Airport centre has been full of Easter fun ahead of the long weekend! 🐣

Children enjoyed creating decorations and showcasing their artwork, while our Investigator room (4–5 years) sparked excitement with their creative bilby footprints.

The little ones also participated in a variety of Easter-inspired learning experiences, and parents were included in the celebrations too, with a special morning tea.

An update from our Joondalup team:

As some of you may already know, a centre in our local area recently closed its doors.

As a result of this, we were given the opportunity to welcome one of their highly valued educators, Maria, to join our team.

We were also incredibly fortunate to be offered many of their resources for our centre. Everything was generously given to us at no cost, purely as a kind gesture. Our team and community are truly grateful, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to Jo and Yvette from the centre.

You may have already noticed some of the beautiful new equipment around the centre. It has been wonderful to see the children enjoying these resources, and each time they use them, we are reminded that they came from a place of kindness and generosity. 💜
