Dear Parents and Carers,
Mullaloo Beach Primary School is seeking expressions of interest from parents who would like to join the School Board in 2026.
The School Board plays an important role in working with the school community to achieve the best possible outcomes for our students. It contributes to good school governance by helping ensure that school resources are used efficiently and that community expectations and school priorities reflect the needs of students.
The functions of School Boards are set out in legislation and include both approval and advisory responsibilities. In partnership with the Principal and other relevant decision-makers, the Board may be involved in matters such as:
• Fees and charges
• Book lists
• Sponsorship
• Dress codes
Board members work collaboratively with the Principal, who ensures that all decisions comply with legislative and policy requirements. The Board does not intervene in the day-to-day management or control of the school — this remains the responsibility of the Principal.
Board membership is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the success and future direction of our school. Members include the Principal, parents, staff, and community members who bring valuable skills and expertise. Parents and community members form the majority of the Board.
Members are required to act in the best interests of the school and its students at all times. Please note that parent and community representatives must complete a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) as part of the appointment process.
If you are interested in nominating for the School Board in 2026, or would like further information about what the role involves, please email the Administration Office by 20 February 2026.
I encourage you to consider this opportunity to support and shape the continued success of Mullaloo Beach Primary School.
Kind regards,
Anthony Greco
Principal
