I see this in the tech space all the time. Someone is so good at their job that they get promoted into a leadership position. The assumption is that, since they're so good at their job, they should be able to lead others who do the same thing.

The problem is that leadership requires a whole raft of different skills, people skills. And technical people are often not equipped and trained with skills like communication, relationship building and conflict resolution.

It's been such an honour and privilege to journey alongside the amazing Jo Harper.

I admire her as a compassionate, human centric leader who thinks and cares deeply about both people and process.

A huge congratulations for taking up the role of CEO at Perth Inner City Youth Services. You are right person for this role. I know you're going to do an amazing job and make such a huge positive difference in the lives of so many!

There are some people that you just connect with, that are filled with such positive energy, enthusiasm and joy that you're just drawn to them.

That's how I felt about Eddie Zhang.

I was amazed at how much we have in common (our love of people, Singaporean heritage and cats) and how much we differed (his cabinet of whiskey and the fact he's a serial entrepreneur having started 5 businesses!)

But the brief chat we had was so enriching and I'm looking forward to more collaboration and experimentation into 3D printing!

Meeting with Bradley Raynor was truly an inspiring, thought provoking and encouraging time.

Wisdom and insight seeped from every word he said, and as someone seeking to grow in the training and development space, it was so eye opening to talk with someone with so many years of experience in this field. I walked away being challenged to position myself slightly differently to reach the right decision makers (an area I'm keenly aware I need to grow in!)

On top of general business acumen, we also talked about education, neurodivergence and how the internet, social media and AI is shaping our culture!
