📚🎶 Book Week at Nido Alkimos! 🎶📚

Last week, we celebrated Book Week with this year’s theme, “Symphony of Stories”! ✨

Our little learners had a wonderful time dressing up as their favourite characters, enjoying stories and letting their imaginations shine.

It was a beautiful week filled with creativity, laughter and a love of books.

A big thank you to our amazing families and educators for joining in the fun!

💛 Early Childhood Educators’ Day 💛

Earlier this week we celebrated our amazing educators with lots of love and appreciation!

We were so grateful for the kind words shared by our service and our wonderful families — it truly means so much to our team.

Our educators also enjoyed a delicious morning tea and received a special little gift as a thank you for all the care, dedication and love they show our children every day.

We are so lucky to have such a wonderful team here at Nido Alkimos! 💐

✨Educator of the Month – Aimee!

A huge congratulations to our wonderful Aimee on being named Educator of the Month for July!

Aimee’s dedication, kindness and passion for the children shines through every day. She is always smiling, bringing such positive energy to our team and going above and beyond to create meaningful experiences for the children in her care.

Aimee is also always ready with a warm smile and a friendly greeting for our families each morning. She takes the time to connect with families, making them feel welcomed, valued and part of our Nido Alkimos community.

We are so lucky to have her as part of our Nido Alkimos family!

There’s something forever magical about watching children explore with playdough, a few tools and some natural loose parts. 🍂🌱

A simple piece of playdough can become anything a child imagines - an elephant, an insect, a hiding place, a song, a meal, or something that has no name at all but allows the imagination to take root.

Add leaves, sticks, wood and suddenly the possibilities are endless!

These open-ended experiences invite children to wonder, create, experiment and follow their own ideas. There’s no right or wrong way to play, just endless opportunities for discovery, imagination and learning.

It’s in these simple moments that we see the beauty of childhood: curious minds, busy hands and big imaginations. 💛

⚽️ Kicking Off Our Soccer Play Journey! ⚽️

We’re excited to welcome local company Soccer Play to our service for regular incursions across a number of our rooms!

Our toddlers and preschoolers have been loving their sessions with Coach Eli, learning fundamental sports and movement skills while building coordination, balance, confidence and teamwork all through fun, engaging play!

It’s wonderful to see our little learners getting active, trying new skills and building their physical development in such a fun way.

Providing our children with these unique opportunities to learn, move and grow is just one of the many things that makes Nido Alkimos so special.

We love creating meaningful experiences that spark curiosity, build confidence and help our little learners thrive! Here’s to more Soccer Play days! ⚽️✨

We loved welcoming the team from Alkimos North East Primary School today and learning more about the exciting opportunities this beautiful new school will offer our local community.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our service and share your information packs with our families. Building strong partnerships with our local schools helps create a sense of connection and confidence for children as they prepare for their next learning journey.

🌟 Employee of the Month: Zara 🌟

This month, we are celebrating someone who has been a valued part of our Nido community from the very first moment she stepped through our doors, Zara! 💛

Zara is the person you know you’ll find yourself chatting with endlessly, laughing with, and enjoying every moment alongside. Her infectious enthusiasm and positive energy have always flowed through our environments, creating meaningful connections with everyone around her.

Zara’s passion for early learning is truly reflected in the way she approaches her role. Her practice is grounded in a deep understanding of what early childhood education is all about - connection, relationships, trust and compassion. She sees the importance of every interaction and understands that the relationships we build with children are at the heart of their learning and wellbeing.

This month, we invited our educators to vote for the person they wanted to show their appreciation to, and we were so happy to see so many educators knew exactly who they wanted to celebrate. We couldn’t agree more, Zara is so deserving of this recognition!

As a community that grows, learns and thrives together, it is always special to have opportunities to show our gratitude and celebrate the incredible people who make our service such a wonderful place.

Bring on another fun-filled musical learning incursion with our favourite orang-utan Bongo!

What journey will he take us on this time?

Bongo the orangutan is very excited to be meeting all the children once again at Nido Early School Alkimos . We hear the kids have been rebuilding their worm farm and growing some edible plants… Bongo has asked if we can play one or two fruit filled songs… should be fun!! 🦧

🌳 Celebrating National Tree Day 🌳

🌱 Inquiry Invitation: If our sunflower seed could talk, what do you think it would ask us for?

Although today is National Tree Day, our Classroom Three children have shown us in the last week how to be capable researchers as they carefully potted sunflower seeds, explored rich textures of soil, used real gardening tools, and engaged in meaningful conversations about what living things need to grow.

Inviting children to connect with nature, develop a sense of responsibility for the environment, and discover that even the smallest seed has the potential to become something extraordinary is something we strive to foster.

Through slow, intentional learning, we nurtured wonder, care, and respect for our natural world. It all comes back to nature in the end, and connecting with it in the early ages builds an insurmountable foundation of understanding for years ahead.
