Where curiosity leads the way… welcome to our STEAM Room! 🔬⚙️🎨

At Sonas, we believe children learn best when they are given the freedom to wonder, explore, experiment, create and discover.

Our dedicated STEAM Room brings together Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics in one thoughtfully designed space, giving children opportunities to investigate ideas, test theories, solve problems and bring their imaginations to life. 🧪🧲🛠️🎨

What makes this space so special is that there is no single “right” way to explore it. Children are encouraged to follow their own curiosity, work collaboratively, take risks, make mistakes and try again, building confidence and important lifelong learning skills along the way.

From constructing and creating to experimenting, predicting, problem-solving and discovering how things work, our STEAM Room allows learning to become something children can touch, question, change and truly experience. 💡✨

It’s just one of the unique ways we create engaging environments that go beyond the everyday and inspire our little learners to think BIG. 🌈🧠

This week at Sonas Early Learning Wanneroo, we explored a loose parts tray filled with recycled materials. The children enthusiastically created, built, and experimented using a variety of open-ended resources. It was wonderful to observe their creativity and imagination as they transformed everyday items into unique creations. Take a peak at the grounds at Sonas Wanneroo. We provide a welcoming natural environment where children can explore, play, and connect with the outdoors. Our natural play spaces invite children to follow the nature trail, investigate plants and wildlife, and enjoy the adventure of climbing trees in an appropriate, supported setting.
Mature trees create naturally shaded areas, acting as living shade sails while giving children a comfortable place to play, discover, and relax. These varied outdoor experiences encourage imagination, curiosity, coordination, confidence, and a lasting appreciation for the natural world.

Sonas Spearwood ignited a spark of creativity and cultural connection at our center! We were privileged to host a special guest who co-created a stunning collaborative artwork with our children, celebrating the rich heritage of the Noongar people. Together, they unlocked the secrets of Aboriginal symbols, explored diverse painting styles, and discovered the power of art to weave stories, share wisdom, and strengthen community bonds. It was exhilarating to see our young minds shine as they asked insightful questions, shared their visions, and proudly added their personal touches to this masterpiece. We're thrilled to share this unforgettable experience with our families and community, and can't wait to unveil the finished artwork, soon to be showcased in our center lobby for all to marvel at! A heartfelt thank you to our guest for sharing their wisdom, culture, and creativity, inspiring us to dream big and make a difference. ❤️💛🖤
