Hi PAPA Family,

With classes finished for the term we just wanted to say thank you for another amazing year at PAPA! We are so proud of the growth we’ve seen in all of our superstar students and the amazing work they have done throughout the year! From our first FRINGE WORLD performance in January, lots of wonderful school holiday performances, High School Musical and their end of year showcases you have all shown impressive courage, commitment and creativity and most importantly embodied the sense of community that we work hard to foster. Watching our students support each other, lift each other up and cheer each other on through hard times as well as spectacular high points brings so much joy to our hearts.

Going into 2026 there are some major changes happening at PAPA, including welcoming our new co-director Jennifer Irvine to the fold! Jenn will be taking the reigns as Imi steps away to focus on her health and family for a little while. Jenn is a highly experienced musician, writer, teacher and lecturer and brings a wealth of knowledge and business acumen that will help broaden students’ skills and opportunities without compromising our core values of nurturing and equality.

Jenn and her lovely friend Jenny will be handling most of the admin and can be reached any time at [email protected]. The PAPA phones (61851320 and 0477040940) will be monitored semi-regularly but email remains the best mode of contact. Enrolments for 2026 are now open at www.perthapa.com and January holiday workshops are on sale. Don’t miss out!

On a personal note, I want to thank you all for your support over the years and express my love for every one of my students past and present. I love all my “foster kids” from the bottom of my heart and I will continue to cheer you on from the sidelines in whatever you choose to do in life. Keep shining 🤩💕

Another year, another AMAZING PAPA KIDS CONCERT!
We are so proud of you all!
This year was a little different and we need to give extra special thanks to a bunch of incredible people who helped this event go ahead. Unfortunately, Imi was very sick during the week before the concert and wasn’t able to manage the event on the day. With no one on site to coordinate all the chaos, our staff and helpers had an incredibly challenging day, but they all worked together and worked VERY hard to make sure over 90 performers aged 3 to 11 had an amazing, fun, inspiring day at the theatre!

Ian had his hands full running between setting everything up, directing plays, liaising with staff and volunteers, wrangling kids backstage and solving problems here there and everywhere, but pulled through and put on a great show. Sophie, as always, was amazing as our MC and stage hand, Ellissa stepped up even more than usual, standing in for missing cast members, prompting, helping all the kids backstage and being in charge of our adorable Juniors. Sienna was excellent supervising the dressing rooms and running kids down to backstage and she was helped so, so much by our AWESOME volunteers!

Lizzie, Katie, Keina, Sophie, Seraphina and Kiana thank you SO MUCH for all your help keeping the kids happy, safe, entertained and in the right place at the right time. We absolutely couldn’t have done it without you and all the staff were extremely impressed with your responsibility, initiative, professionalism and friendliness. We are so proud of you all!!

Our amazing tech Queen Kay was as always incredibly helpful throughout the entire day and during the planning process, she is adored by all our young students and does an incredible job of mentoring and inspiring them every day. Kay was joined in the bio box by fellow WAAPA live production students Micah and Sam, who were absolutely brilliant. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough and can’t wait to hopefully work with them in the future.

Last but not least, thank you so much to our PAPA Family, students, parents, caregivers, families and friends for all your support getting the kids to classes and rehearsals and watching them perform. It is truly our greatest joy at PAPA getting to know each and every one of them and watching them grow in confidence and develop incredible friendships and life skills. Their ecstatic smiles after performing are the be all and end all of why we do what we do, and without your love and support they would not have these opportunities and we would not have the privilege of watching them grow and shine.
