Today, the children showed interest in moving the car tyres around the yard so we decided it might be fun to create an obstacle course.
The boys enjoyed rolling, lifting and lining up the tyres, and engaged in problem solving to include these and other items such as the wooden ladder, to make the course reach all the way to the trampoline.
What a great way to expel some energy and incorporate team work, negotiation, problem solving and lots of language.
On Friday, Footprints FDC Mirrabooka had a great time visiting Grandma (Di's mum) at her LifestyleVillage.
First we enjoyed a picnic morning tea on the grass area, where we also played with some balls and saw a postman and a rubbish truck go by.
Then we looked for fish in the pond before going on a quick tour inside. Outside, we enjoyed playing some mini golf and exploring the Secret Garden that had lots of hidden treasures. Grandma invited us back to her house for lunch. The children quite enjoyed her swing seat and controlling the electric recliners.
Thanks Grandma for a really fun day. 💕

What better way than to have fun outside gardening and spending time with our chickens on World Environment Day. 🥰🌏🐔
World Environment Day is commemorated every year on June 5th. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness about the environment and how to protect and care for our planet.
At Footprints FDC, we decided to pull up some weeds that have been popping up around our playground equipment area and feed these to our chickens as part of our way of caring for our environment and animals.
Our chickens kindly gave us some fresh eggs in return. 🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚🐔
This activity provided opportunities for the children to appreciate, care for and connect with their immediate environment, making it meaningful and authentic to them. It also gave them a sense of belonging and ownership as they cared for a place they enjoy to spend time in.
This hands on experience also allowed the children to practise their language skills through the conversations we had, and exercise their fine and gross motor skills, sharing, turn taking, problem solving, trial and error, negotiation and collaboration skills as we worked together to care for and improve our outdoor environment.
At Footprints FDC Mirrabooka, we provide daily rich learning experiences that feed off the children's interests and abilities to support the growth, confidence and whole development of our very special young individuals. 💕👣

Footprints FDC Mirrabooka.
I currently have a few vacancies available and would love to invite families for a tour.
If you have little ones starting school in the new year, or children already attending Kindy this year, I would love for your family to come for a visit to Footprints FDC Mirrabooka.
Perhaps you have been looking to go back to work or study next term, or have been looking for care for your child who is currently in Kindy on their non-Kindy days. I offer alternate week care if days are available.
I also provide Before and After School Care for older siblings, along with casual days for Student Free Days and School Holidays.
