To our wonderful team members, Bec, Jo and Alicia, who have been with Leaps and Bounds Serpentine for five years: Thank you for your passion and dedication. Your ability to build beautiful relationships with the children and their families is truly remarkable. We appreciate everything you do, and we are privileged to have you as part of our team.

Alexis from The Nature Seekers delivered an insightful presentation on the critical importance of road safety rules. Afterward, we actively participated in creative loose parts play that allowed our imaginations to flourish! In the undercover area, we confidently created our own safety vests by skillfully gluing strips of high-visibility material, bottle lids, puzzle pieces, and pieces of straw onto paper bags cut into vest shapes. On the grassed area, we engaged in imaginative play with our friends, collaborating to build impressive robots, cars, and tall towers!

The Children have been actively participating in a range of exciting science activities, such as hands-on experiments and engaging observations of their environment. These activities not only spark their natural curiosity but also enhance their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Through this immersive learning experience, the children are building a strong foundation for a lifelong passion for learning and scientific exploration.

We celebrated "Very Hungry Caterpillar Day," honouring Eric Carle's beloved children's book character and the first day of spring. It was a day to appreciate the wonders of nature, the joy of reading, and the magic of transformation, as depicted in the story.

We celebrated Clean Up Australia Day by actively participating in the rescue of animals. The children took charge by removing litter from their habitats, ensuring that the animals can swim safely and comfortably once again. Sustainability is a vital issue, and we know that every small change we make can create a significant positive impact on our environment.

The children at Leaps and Bounds Serpentine had an amazing time playing in the rain in their rainsuits. Playing in the rain delivers an exceptional sensory experience for toddlers, significantly boosts their gross motor skills, and establishes a strong connection with nature, all while actively promoting exploration and learning.

We have been practicing writing our names. Writing names enhances both children's understanding of concepts and their writing skills. Names hold special meaning for children, and preschoolers are usually eager to learn how to write the letters in their names, particularly the first letter.

The children at Leaps and Bounds have been enjoying water play and sensory activities during the summer. Sensory play encourages learning through exploration, curiosity, problem-solving, and creativity. It helps build neural connections in the brain and promotes the development of language and motor skills. There are many benefits of sensory play that often go unnoticed, such as improving the ability to focus and block out distractions. Overall, sensory play is a crucial aspect of childhood development.
