VacSwim 2026-2027 programs

VacSwim offers fun swimming lessons over the October and summer school holidays. It aims to give children across Western Australia the skills to stay safe and confident in the water.

Children aged 5 to 17 years old across swimming stages 1 to 16. For specific stage information refer to the following website. https://www.education.wa.edu.au/vacswim

To ensure a fair and equitable opportunity for all children to enjoy VacSwim, enrolment is limited to one program per child. This means:
• one enrolment permitted for October programs
• one enrolment permitted for summer programs (December and January).

Families can register on a waitlist for additional programs if desired.

Enrolments open Wednesday 22 July 2026
October enrolments close Wednesday 19 August 2026
Summer enrolments close Wednesday 14 October 2026

WA Student Assistance Payment 2026

The WA Student Assistance Payment (WASAP) is returning in 2026, providing cost‑of‑living support to families with school‑aged children in Western Australia.
This payment can help with school-related expenses such as books and IT equipment, sport and music costs, stationery, school shoes, uniforms, excursions, camps, and other everyday costs including food and groceries.

Key details:
Available to parents/guardians of students from Kindergarten to Year 12
Claims open Monday 20 July to Friday 25 September 2026
Payments available:
$150 for Kindergarten and primary school students
$250 for secondary school students

Claims are made through the ServiceWA app, and eligibility is confirmed using your child’s WA Student Number (WASN). This can be found on your child’s school report or previous NAPLAN results.

If your child is in Kindergarten and has not yet received a formal report, or if you are unable to locate your child’s WASN, please contact via email: [email protected]

🥐 P&C Thank You Breakfast 🥐

This morning we had the pleasure of celebrating our wonderful P&C with a special breakfast at Creaney!

Our P&C President, members and staff enjoyed a delicious spread of muffins, fruit, pikelets, scones, and more, a small way for us to say thank you to the P&C for all that they do behind the scenes.

From organising events and fundraising to supporting opportunities for our students, your time and dedication make such a positive impact on our whole school community.

We are pleased to introduce the new Principal of Creaney Primary School, Mr Chris Walker.

Since joining our school, Mr Walker has been spending time in classrooms, meeting staff and students, and getting to know the strong, positive culture of our school community. He brings with him a passion for education and a strong commitment to supporting every child to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Mr Walker joins Creaney PS following previous leadership roles at Margaret River Primary School and Eddystone Primary School. He values positive relationships, collaboration and open communication, and looks forward to working closely with students, staff and families as he builds strong connections across our school community.

Over the coming weeks, Mr Walker will continue learning about the journey Creaney PS has been on and engaging with our wider community.

We look forward to welcoming Mr Chris Walker to the Creaney PS community.
