💗 Happy Early Childhood Educators Day 💗

Today is the one of the most special days in our calendar year, the day when we get to shower our amazing Educators in appreciation for all of the hard work that they do every single day. We are so lucky to have such a beautiful team of passionate and kind Educators that bring so much joy and so many smiles to the childrens lives.

We have enjoyed massages, morning tea and a feast of pizzas throughout the day. Thank you to our lovely families that have joined in with the celebrations and taken the time to leave thoughtful messages for our Staff as well as bringing gifts and home baked goods. It has been a great day 💗🌹💆‍♀️🍕

✨📚BOOK WEEK 2026 - Days 4 & 5 📚✨

What a fun-filled Book Week the children have had this year! 📖 Between dressing up and book-based activities it has been a busy and joyous time for educators and children alike 🧙‍♀️ 🦸‍♂️ 🦹‍♂️ Congratulations to the Toddler Room for winning the prize for the best-dressed team. Their EYLF-linked daily themes gave them the edge to win a book voucher from QBD Mirrabooka to buy fresh books for their room 📚 🎉

With Literacy being the heart of our Centre, Book Week is most definitely one of our favourite weeks of the year! Our Educators and Children have had so much fun dressing up as their favourite characters and engaging in book inspired learning opportunities. Stay tuned for more costume highlights! 🦸‍♀️📚👸🦹‍♂️🐻

Book Week 2026 has begun! Darren from Mirrabooka Library visited Read 2 Grow Nollamara on Monday morning to read the children some wonderful books and tell us all about the Library. Did you know that with a Library membership you can borrow up to 20 items at a time? Darren also brought gifts with him; all children will receive a Better Beginnings Box to take home this week. Thanks, City of Stirling!

🌋👨‍🔬👩‍🔬 Science Week 👩‍🔬👨‍🔬🌋

What fun we have had this week becoming mini scientists and exploring the fascinating world of Science! Our Kindys made a 'real volcano' in our sandpit using vinegar and baking soda, whilst our younger explorers made some fizzy potions and marvelled at the magic of walking water.

Our Interactive flip game in our Foyer was also a big hit with the children having the opportunity to explore the science of seeds. 🌱🔬⚛

✨Meet Jigme ✨
Our superstar Educator and winner of this months 'Families Choice - Above and Beyond Award', as voted for by the children themselves. Some of the reasons Families gave for choosing Jigme as our winner were that she is always there to greet their child with a big smile and a hug, aswell as just being generally lovely 🥰

At Read 2 Grow, celebrating events is not simply choosing an event from a Calendar. We choose our celebrations based on whats important to our Families and what best represents our embedded daily practices. We have recently invited our Families to share their individual input through a fun voting station so that we can make sure our celebrations are meaningful and have purpose. On Thursday our children and educators dressed in denim for a good cause! By participating in Jeans for Genes Day, Read2Grow raised funds for the Children’s Medical Research Institute to find treatments and cures for genetic diseases affecting children. It was lovely to see so many people participating 🥰

Staff and children have recently raised funds for children in foster care by dressing in their pyjamas for National Pyjama Week. This is definitely one our favourite dress up weeks, we all stayed very warm and cosy!

Read2Grow is extremely passionate about fostering literacy in children. When we learned that by the time they are 7 , 92% of children in foster care have a below average reading ability, we wanted to do something to help. The funds raised will be donated and matched by Read2Grow to support this important cause.

We recently celebrated NAIDOC Week 2026 through play-based activities. Experiences the children engaged in included sensory, art, reading stories and music opportunities to develop their knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultures within the theme ’50 Years Deadly’.
