Lots more activities done this past week. Kids are loving the warm weather cause it means lots of outside play with water. Using our imagination by adding loose parts into the sand table was another hit with lots of “sand monsters” were created. Also getting school ready working on our pincer grip and muscles by cleaning cars and tuff trays with tiny sponges.

A few of our book week activities this week. The kiddo’s favourite book lately is the hungry caterpillar so we had lots of fun learning to count and naming healthy and unhealthy foods as we fed the caterpillar. We then made beautiful butterflies with “puffy” paints made with shaving foam and paint.
For our Indigenous story book we chose the “Rainbow serpent” creating beautiful rainbow snakes we painted then cut into a long spiral. 🌀

🌟🔬 Science Week Fun 🔬🌟

This week we celebrated Science Week with a series of exciting, hands-on experiments that had the children bubbling with curiosity and wonder! 🧪✨

🟠 Skittle Rainbows – We watched colours magically swirl and blend to create beautiful rainbow patterns.
💧 Oil & Water Don’t Mix – The children were fascinated to see how the two liquids stayed separate no matter how much we stirred!
🌋 Fizzy Volcanoes – Laughter and squeals filled the air as our mini volcanoes fizzed and erupted.
🥛 Milk, Food Colouring & Dish Soap – We discovered how a simple drop of soap can send colours dancing across the milk’s surface.

The children were thoroughly engaged, asking questions, making predictions, and celebrating each surprising result. 🥼💡

🐝 Bee Week Buzz! 🐝
Today we had so much fun exploring the world of bees and learning why these tiny insects are so important to our planet! 🌼💛

The children were busy using their fine motor skills to pick up little bees with tweezers, scoops, and spoons, placing them carefully into their “homes.” This hands-on activity helped develop hand–eye coordination, encouraged turn-taking, and sparked so much curiosity and conversation! 🐝✨

We love seeing our little learners engaged and buzzing with excitement! 💛🍯

Today the group explored melting ice to rescue turtles using pipettes and warm water. The children showed persistence, teamwork, and strong problem-solving skills as they worked to free the turtles. They experimented with different techniques and shared ideas with one another, showing curiosity about cause and effect.

Where to from here:
We will offer more ice exploration with a variety of objects and tools, encourage prediction-making, and extend their understanding of science and care for the environment through further sensory and inquiry-based experiences.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve had so much fun exploring, learning, and creating special moments together! Our little group is thriving, and we now have one vacancy available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.

A Magical Colour-Mixing Adventure!

Today, the children embarked on a colourful journey, exploring how primary colours blend to create new hues! Using liquid droppers, they carefully picked up bright coloured water and released it onto soft cotton pads. Their eyes widened with excitement as they watched colours swirl and merge—red and yellow became warm orange, blue and red formed deep purple, and yellow and blue transformed into a refreshing green.

The children were captivated, experimenting with different combinations and sharing their discoveries with one another. Some squealed with delight at unexpected results, while others eagerly predicted what would happen next. This hands-on experience not only sparked creativity but also strengthened their fine motor skills as they controlled the droppers with precision.
