Friendly reminder that both centres will be closed Monday 1st June for the WA Day public holiday. Business as usual from Tuesday 2nd June 2026.

What a busy week we have had at Hocking Stars Gungurru. This week we celebrated Sorry day and started reconciliation week teaching kindness , respect , working together and how we can be kind to our land . We have been learning about sustainability through hands on experiences, watering our vegetables and and taking our food scraps to our compost . We had our cooking classes with Venni and made delicious fruit kebabs for afternoon tea , our cooking classes are becoming a real favourite for the children . The weather has been a little wet this week, which allows us to explore the outdoors in our rain suits, jumping, running and splashing in the rain. And many other learning opportunities with letter and colour recognition activities and messy sensory play ☺️

🌟 TURIN 🌟
On Tuesday 26th May we had a Dental visit from Little Smiles WA !
A big thank you to Dionne and Tina for creating a caring, safe and fun environment for children when it comes to seeing the dentist. Little Smiles visits us every 6 months so keep an eye out for the posts and flyers for our next visit. 🤍

Children build confidence in new situations, become aware of community roles and services and develop respect for people who keep them healthy. Discussing and exploring teeth brushing and healthy foods through play, interactions and exploring dental tools.

Oh my goodness, what an amazing outcome and great time we had for our 3rd year hosting a Biggest Morning Tea 🥹
Together we raised a whopping $1,435.
We over exceeded our goal and we couldn’t be more proud of the families, staff and local community that we have as part of our Hocking Stars Family! We hope you all enjoyed your treats and we hope you can all support this amazing cause with us again next year ♥️

A big thank you to Matyas for visiting the children on Wednesday 20th May to talk about Road Safety and all the ways he helps children and families safely cross the road.

🌟 TURIN 🌟
On Thursday 14th May we had such a fun incursion from The Constable Care Foundation.
The Wheely Safe Adventure program is an engaging and interactive story where children “go to the park, where a monster is on the loose and Sarge the Dog has gone missing! Along the way, children help our puppet friends travel safely while learning important skills for riding bikes, and anything with wheels.”🚲 👮‍♂️
All children AND educators loved this one!

On Friday 15th May the children enjoyed meeting Charlie the snake 🐍
Cassy brought in Charlie, her pet snake, for a special visit. The children had the opportunity to observe him closely, gently pat him, and feel his skin while learning about snakes. We also discussed what to do if they see a snake in the wild.
