Mount Claremont Village Park

Annie's Playschool Mount Claremont children have been enjoying harvesting the herbs and cooking with them in our community garden. Feel free to come and pick herbs, we’ve made yummy pesto with our basil and delicious sage and butter pasta.

Hooley Dooley it’s heating up! If you’re down at the park and our veggies look sad and dry to you, please feel free to use the watering cans on hand to top them up. They’ll probably need a little more love than the two reticulation days with the Council’s schedule over the next few weeks. It takes a village! 🌳

Our first garden beds have been planted, with the help of the gorgeous Annie’s kids. We’ve got - parsley•basil•thyme•sage•chives•oregano•
•chamomile•cucumbers•rosemary•carrots•
•capsicum•raspberries•blueberries•and strawberries galore!
Thank you to all your support so far. We’ll let these babies get a little established before harvesting but the plan is to have some communal scissors etc out so people can collect when they need!
Next step, our fruit tree grove and some beautiful pollinator plants.

Budding gardeners with creative solutions 🌻

We’re hoping our spiders will scare away the insects eating our veggies. The children have been researching organic ways to defend our veggies from insects, they have tried egg shells, coffee grinds, feeding caterpillars to the chooks and scarecrows. Fingers crossed the spiders do a better job.

The Mount Claremont Village Bakery will be announcing the winner of the costume completion today, which is $50 voucher to spend in store! If you wanted to but haven’t already, make sure you tag/send them a picture of your costumes from the day ☺️
