🌊 Under the Sea Adventures! 🌊
The children in Classroom 2 have been busy deepening their understanding of the world around them through their growing interest in the ocean and the creatures that live within it. The children thoroughly enjoyed learning the names of a variety of sea animals, from gentle sea turtles to playful dolphins and colourful fish. To extend their learning further, the children explored sea animal shapes using playdough. This hands-on activity encouraged creativity, fine motor development, and imaginative thinking as the children proudly created their very own underwater world.

At Nido Secret Harbour, we are excited to introduce our new Cooking Program, designed to support children in developing essential life skills through meaningful, hands-on experiences. Cooking offers rich learning opportunities that extend far beyond the kitchen, helping children build confidence, independence, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Through weekly cooking experiences, children are encouraged to explore ingredients, practice basic food-preparation techniques, and work collaboratively with peers and educators. These experiences naturally support the development of literacy and numeracy skills, as children engage in real-world learning.
The program also promotes important life skills including problem-solving, turn-taking, following instructions, and developing healthy eating habits.

By embedding cooking into our curriculum, we aim to nurture capable, confident, and curious learners who are developing foundational skills that will support them throughout their lives.

We’re excited to share that we’ve purchased new resources for our learning spaces! They’re perfect for sensory play, experimenting with colours and encouraging creative thinking.

🌱 Our recent garden makeover has sparked even more excitement in our Classroom 5 children! After carefully planting their beans and waiting patiently for them to sprout, the children have now transferred them into our outdoor vegetable garden. 🫘✨

They’ve been so engaged in caring for their plants — watering, watching, and wondering how long it will be before we see some beans! We can’t wait to see what grows next. 💚
