🎤 One Big Voice 🎤

Last Friday we had students and staff attend One Big Voice at RAC Arena - it was an incredibly special event!

We were also very proud and excited for Penny who was selected to lead the National Anthem alongside 4000 students singing alongside her! What a fantastic achievement! She was selected from over 800+ applicants who auditioned and we are so glad she got the opportunity to show off her talent, confidence and hard work.

Thank you, Mrs Carroll, for leading our choir students in their performance. Your commitment, energy, talent and support have been truly amazing! We are so grateful for the time and passion you put into helping our students shine!

📚 Book Week Parade 📚

What a fantastic Book Week parade we had on Wednesday! It was wonderful to see our students and staff getting into the spirit of Book Week with so many creative, colourful and imaginative costumes.

Year 5 Excursion Fun!

On Tuesday 25 August, our Year 5 students travelled to The Kids Research Institute at Perth Children’s Hospital!

Our students had an amazing morning of learning at the Discovery Centre, exploring a research laboratory and conducting our very own experiment to extract DNA from a strawberry. Students also discovered some fascinating facts about genetics - including that humans share approximately 20% of the same genes as a cabbage!

Afterwards, they enjoyed lunch in the beautiful Waalbiirniny Waabiny Boodja nature space before walking across the Rainbow Walkway on Koolangka Bridge (The Kids’ Bridge).

A sincere thank you to all our wonderful Education Assistants and a huge thank you to our amazing parent helpers for supporting the classes throughout the morning.

What a fantastic day of discovery, curiosity and hands-on learning!

Year One Excursion!

Our Year One students had an amazing time on their excursion to the Kalamunda History Village last week! They had the opportunity to step back in time and discover what life was like for children and families in the past.

Students explored how people used to wash their clothes, sort and prepare fruit, play games, live in their homes and even what school was like many years ago. They loved seeing the different objects, buildings and activities that helped bring history to life!

This excursion linked closely with the Year One's HASS learning about 'Past and Present' throughout the semester. It was wonderful to see the students making connections between what they had been learning in the classroom and what they experienced at the History Village.

🎸CTK Rock Band rocks the Catholic Perf Arts Festival🎤

On Tuesday night, nine talented Year 6 students took to the stage at Sacred Heart College for CPAF’s Battle of the Primary School Rock Bands — and they were truly incredible!

The band (called Noise Pollution) performed “Sweet Child O’ Mine” by Guns N’ Roses and “Since U Been Gone” by Kelly Clarkson — two very challenging songs for musicians so young. Their performance was confident and polished, and really reflected the hard work, commitment and rehearsal time they have put in.

A big thank you to Mr May, who has had a significant impact on the band’s development and has helped them grow enormously as young musicians.

Well done to our rock stars! 🎸
